Asian Express is a beacon of speedy service, wallet-friendly pricing, and most importantly, irresistibly flavorful meals. This predominantly take-out restaurant may be quick and inexpensive, but it delivers on taste and quality in a way that rivals its more upmarket counterparts.
Upon entering, you're greeted with an array of tantalizing options. However, the true stars of the show are their value-packed meal deals. From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, their lunch combo, priced at a mere $7.59, promises a complete, satisfying meal. This offering includes a crispy egg roll, your choice of hearty chicken fried rice or fluffy white rice, and a can of pop or a serving of the soothing egg drop soup. This combo ensures a well-rounded, satiating meal without making a dent in your wallet.
Post 3:00 PM, the dinner combo steals the limelight. Priced at $9.49, this meal comes with an egg roll, chicken fried rice or white rice (with an option to upgrade to Lo Mein, pork, beef, or shrimp fried rice for a dollar more). The combination of variety, affordability, and quality this deal provides makes Asian Express an ideal choice for dinner take-outs.
Among the plethora of delicious dishes, the shrimp with lobster sauce stands out. The shrimp, cooked to perfection, marries beautifully with the luxuriously rich lobster sauce. This symphony of flavors results in a dish that is as delightful to the palate as it is to the eyes.
A mention must be made of the Kung Pao chicken, another favorite that packs a flavorful punch. Tender chunks of chicken, tossed in a savory, mildly spicy sauce with peanuts and vegetables, offer a taste adventure that satisfies and surprises in every bite. The heat of the sauce is perfectly balanced, giving the dish a delightful kick without overwhelming the senses.
In terms of service, Asian Express truly lives up to its name. The speed at which orders are prepared and ready for pick-up is impressive, making it a perfect choice for those busy days when time is of the essence.
Overall, Asian Express presents a compelling case for why 'quick and inexpensive' can also mean 'delicious and satisfying.' With its budget-friendly combos, rapid service, and diverse array of mouth-watering dishes, this take-out restaurant is a gem in Joliet, one that guarantees an exceptional dining experience without...
Read moreOn 1/13/18 at 5:00 pm, I placed an order online for 1 small orange chicken, 1 small pork fried rice, 1 veggie spring roll, and 1 small pineapple smoothie. The confirmation told me that my food would be delivered by 5:55pm ( I live 10 min away from the location). at 6:15 my food had still not arrived, so I called the store to make sure it was still coming, after about 5 min on the phone, the person told me that the driver had already left the store and was on their way. At 6:40 my food had still not arrived, so I called again to ask what was the hold up. They were in the middle of contacting the driver, when they pulled up to my house. Their only explanation was that they were busy that night. When I opened my food, it was still hot.....I doubt that in the almost 2 hours it took to receive my food, it was cooked at a hot enough temperature that it would still be warm by the time I got it. I came to the conclusion that they simply forgot to make my order all together, and tried to make it at the last minute before delivering it. I've ordered from them plenty of times, and never had this issue before. But even so, if they had forgotten to make my order, they should have told me on the phone so I could get a refund, and just go somewhere else to eat instead of waiting almost 2 hours for food that should take less than 30 min to make and deliver. I'd probably eat here again, but next time I think I'll just pick...
Read moreMy mother has ordered food from here previously with no issues until today. She has a shellfish allergy and has always ordered the same food there and never had an allergic reaction. Today she had a reaction to the egg rolls (the same egg rolls she has ordered in the past). Her reaction was so severe that she went to the ER. The issue is not that she had a reaction but the fact that NO place in that location or on any menu does it say that the egg rolls have shellfish in them. To make matters worse she called the location and they were EXTREMELY rude and told her that it was her own fault for ordering food from there. They refused to give names of anyone that she spoke to and when she said that she would be sending them her Medical bills he blatantly stated that he "did not care" and that he "has insurance". He told her she could go ahead and call the cops, he once again does not care because he has insurance. The disrespectful nature of this establishment and the employees that work there is appalling. Shellfish allergy is common and the fact that they cannot even bother to note at the bottom of a menu that something has shellfish in it shows a lack of character and care for their customers. I hope that anyone with a shellfish allergy who eats at this DUMP is very careful and that no one has a worse reaction to it...
