I used to go to Stone Creek regularly until I found out what the workers make. The part time employees get paid just above minimum wage and management was notoriously cheap when it came to raises. I was aware of store managers who worked significant overtime but got paid around a $26k salary, so no overtime pay. In order to get a raise, an employee would have to ask and build a case for why they deserve it. They don't even have annual raises.
If the owner has multiple houses AND they keep opening stores, they certainly have the financial resources to revisit their wage policy.

They greeted me when I came in, used my name frequently, finished my order quickly and brought out my warmed up croissant to my table.
