First time here. I parked and tried entering at the front of the business. The sign said "open," but all the doors were locked. I took a small road which went to the rear of the restaurant and this is where their parking lot was located. I followed a man in through a small maze of corridors once I entered the door. At last, I was inside. We were greeted and shown to a table. It is a small diner, very cute with a Western theme. On the far side, there is a bakery. The wall displayed some very delicious looking donuts, and another customer was the one who told me you could create your own donut. I looked around and didn't see any pricing of the bakery items. I did see a small whiteboard that listed a few items, such as wraps, but again, there were no prices. The staff member at the counter did give me the prices of each type and quantity of donut, it really seems it would be more convenient if there was a price list posted somewhere. Their seasonal donuts and cinnamon twist were very delicious. Back at the table, we shared a BLT, which is the best BLT around!! They didn't skimp on bacon. It was well worth the wait, and they was a bit of a wait. After a good meal with a full belly, you discover the next room is a soda fountain and ice cream area and upon walking further there is a leather shop and store filled with hides of every type, belts, saddles, engraved leather and wood, clothing, purses, well I could go on, but you'll just have to check it out for yourself!

The family was driving through Show Low on the way back to Phoenix and wondering where to stop and eat. One of our daughters saw the sign for White Mountain Donuts and it sounded good. Just so you know, walking up to the shop smelled awesome! So now the kids are really excited just walking up to the donut shop. The staff greeted us the moment we walked into their store. We walked in for donuts and ended up staying for lunch too! Great decision as it was amazing food and equally amazing service. The owner was walking around greeting the customers and refilling drinks for everyone too. There’s a kids area in the back which my youngest daughter immediately disappeared to. Our little daughter created her own donut which they’ll do for you. She did sprinkles, gummy bears, and animal crackers...shes in heaven haha. Can’t wait to come back in the future. Will have to add this to our list of places to visit as often as we can!

This place is great. Mom and pop country vibe with panache. The menu has all of the country classics done right, biscuits & sausage peppered gravy, chicken fried steak, ham steaks, hash, etc but then you'll be happy to see some really fun ingredients being used in other dishes like the watermelon radish in their salads, and the quiche is definitely next level. We were there on a Sunday for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised with live music as well. Serving sizes are huge, easily shareable, but that might be hard because every dish we tried was so good they disappeared fast! Be sure to check out the fun saddle seats at the bar for an adult shake for dessert along with what might have been the best damn blueberry pie we've ever had.

I prefer leaving positive reviews, but servers that lie should be mentioned. Full review below:

The good: my son enjoyed his omelet, but he's easy to please. Eggs were perfectly poached for the Benedict.

The bad: grease stain inside my son's orange juice cup. Simple fix is to replace the cup, and i wasn't rude or difficult when addressing my concern. The sever (Frankie) replaced the cup of juice and LIED, saying the grease was between the cups plastic layers and not touching the juice. I had already rubbed the outside of the cup, no grease removed. I then used the straw to scrape the inside of cup, and the grease started coming off. Just make the situation right, do not lie about it. There's literally no point in lying and now there's a bad Google review ONLY because the server is a liar. Eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce needs big improvement. It was clumpy and way too thick. There was so much paprika sprinkled on top of the eggs, it was taking away the flavor of the sauce. No one wants to taste only paprika. This specific meal is offered with either fruit or a salad (a salad for breakfast...say what?). I substituted for potatoes. Potatoes were completely plain, no seasoning. Finally, the worst part was the price. I was not expecting an average (at best) restaurant in the white mountains to charge $40 for 2 breakfast meals. Menu items ordered: Build your own omelet with Orange juice Eggs Benedict with water

We took our leftovers: dogs enjoyed later.

Conclusion: we will not return, service and food for that cost was definitely not worth it.

Advice: go somewhere else. Head further up and accept a longer wait time for a far better experience somewhere like...

I wanted to like this place from the outside, cute vintage vibe and branding. Once I got in it was kind of less cute, missing the niche and just feeling like the decorations were clearance from a hobby lobby. The staff was friendly enough and front of house was wearing masks. They were seating distanced, and this was a Saturday morning so I can only assume this was their busy time. My biggest disappointment comes from the to-go packaging, still using polystyrene everything and individually wrapped forks and knifes put in plastic to go bags rather than simply using paper it was like I stepped back to1989, which matches the interior decor, so maybe it’s a whole vibe. But also bulk prep diner coffee and then add your own cream and sugar, which was behind the counter. So walk around to the employee area to get your own single use creamers and packets of sugar. No espresso, which is probably for the best. I ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and keeping with the 1989 vibe the “no meat” part of the order was obviously challenging. The hostess had to tell kitchen staff 4 times that the burrito should have no meat. While I stood and waited for my order I watched the kitchen staff come in and out to use the self serve coffee area, no mask, no gloves, no beard nets on any of them. So eating the burrito turned into a gamble apropos of the name of the town. The burrito was actually pretty good. So 1 star deducted for the plastic and styrofoam nightmare and 1 star deducted for the kitchen staff hygiene. The decor was a shame but it’s all subjective so who am I to critique when it’s not my establishment. Hopefully they get the rest sorted and I would...

We popped up to Show Low from Tucson to just get out of dodge for a couple of days with the pup. We were looking for a place where we could get a good breakfast AND our girl Violet would be welcome. We landed here... and our experience started a little challenging but truly overall had a great experience.

First off, it is difficult to figure out where to park. It sits right next to the Cattleman's that has a huge parking lot shared with a bank. What you can't easily figure out is Bertie's has a full parking lot around the back, and there is an entrance back there too. Tourists like us would not necessarily know that... so we parked at the Cattleman's (did not get towed, and were told it had the same owners) and walked right on their patio. They are VERY pet friendly, so that always wins me over. All of the staff were incredibly friendly not just to our pet but to us as well!

Our server was a little slow to get to our table since they were busy and short staffed BUT she was incredibly sweet and attentive. We ordered the house Quiche and Chix Fried Steak. The food is WONDERFUL. It was very clear everything is made from scratch here and not from frozen. Additionally, they make donuts. Since we ate breakfast there, our server told us if we ordered a dozen it would be half off... so we did. Who knew the donuts were GIANT. GIANT but ohhhhhhh sooooooo delicious. The apple fritter is beyond amazing. We drove all the way back to Tucson with tons of donuts to keep cool and...
