I don't like to leave negative reviews, but there were just so many things off here, I can't recommend it.
Our family of 5 came in about an hour before close on a Friday, and they were pretty slow. Only about 3 other tables with customers. For drinks, we all just had water but after getting very cold, I ordered a hot chocolate with a shot of Baileys, which was delicious.
We ordered the $10 potato skins appetizer and it was underwhelming. Only the centers of the potatoes had toppings and the whole thing was dry. Just underwhelming and not really enjoyable.
My husband ordered the sirloin, which only comes in 8oz - surprising because most steakhouses offer several options, with 8 being the smallest. Good thing he wasn't very hungry that evening. The steak appeared to be unseasoned and was just...steak. Nothing special at all. Less tasty than what we make at home surprisingly.
I ordered an appetizer as my meal, the rib tips ($16), and what I received was a small bowl of very soft, almost mushy pieces of steak, maybe 5oz of steak total? I have never experienced rib tips like that before. They're usually firm pieces of meat, not falling apart like a pot roast.
One of our 3 children ordered the $20 sauteed shrimp and what he received was 5 shrimp in a small bowl of broth. Seriously, 5 medium-sized shrimp in a bowl and a side of mashed potatoes. For $20. I politely asked the server if this was correct and she said she thought so, yes. She offered to bring the manager over, but I expressed that I wasn't someone to pitch a fit and I certainly was in no mood to complain or ruin someone's night. So perhaps it's on us that we just lived with it, but I was very unhappy that we had to stop at McDonald's on the way back to our cabin because the kid was still very hungry after his meal that cost more than we would typically spend for a kid.
Our bill was over $100 before tip, and although the server did her job well, I couldn't bring myself to tip more than 18%. So when it was all said and done, we paid about $135 for a meal that no one enjoyed. (That's $27/person including the children who ordered extremely basic kids meals - ckn nuggets for one and I can't remember the other.) Our family cannot afford to spend that amount very often and when we do, I think it's reasonable to expect an enjoyable, filling meal. That's not at all what we...
Read moreIf I could rate it a negative I would. Everything started out good fast seating and very friendly. The music and decor were good. Holly our waitress at this time was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered and my husband ordered a top sirloin steak made medium. We got our meals and his steak was ,medium rare. We ask the bus boy to get a hold of Holly our waitress. My husband explained about his steak and she took it back to the kitchen. So I start eating my meal and open up my silverware and my napkin looked like it had snot on it. Then my husband gets his steak back it is charred on the outside but is still medium rare. A few minutes later Holly checks on us and he explains that the steak is still medium rare, but he will eat it anyway. Holly goes to the manager Alysia and explains what has happened. Alysia comes over and apologizes for the steak not being cooked correctly. She explains that since he ate it she could only give us a discount. We said we appreciate that, but will not come back again. She leaves our table and shook her head. So we get our bill and my husband puts money in there to pay the bill. Just as we are walking away he realized he didn't put enough money in there, so we turned around and told Holly that we didn't put enough money in there and wanted to correct it. Holly said don't worry about it. We asked are you sure? She said yes, so we proceeded to leave. We believe she then went to the manager and told her we didn't pay our full bill. Because just as we are backing out of the parking space the manager Alysia and another worker came out. I rolled down my window and asked if everything was okay and Alysia said yes. I rolled up my window and we continued to pull out Alysia was writing down our license plate down. We went right back. I went inside and explained what happened and said I want to pay the rest of my bill. Cathy was very friendly, but did try to make excuses for what happened. I've never been treated with so much disrespect in my entire life. We will...
Read moreI don't usually leave reviews, but this place needs a warning.
I'm traveling and decided to treat myself to a steak dinner. I went in around 7:30. Service: The service was good, I was seated quickly, and they did their best to accommodate me. Atmosphere: The dining room is outdated and old and smells like dust, playing classic country that made me want to fall asleep. Appetizers: The fried zucchini was pretty good, but based off appearance I don't think it's made from scratch, so no points there. The salad was fine as you'd expect. The bread was dry, chewy and flavorless, even with butter, it tasted like they made it days ago and put it in a warmer. Meal: I got a New York strip, medium well. It looked fine on the outside albeit unseasoned, but that's it. It was awful, chewy, flavorless, and maybe a bit off, truly one of the worst steaks I've ever had. It was also rare or undercooked because it was still purple on one half, like the grill didn't have even heat, my waitress offered to put it back on the grill but that wasn't going to help the flavor or texture so I just set most of it aside. $30 for that... Dessert: Dutch apple pie. Presentation was good, but flavor was just okay. The ice cream was as good as you'd expect, but the pie was bland. Drinks: I got water at first and then decided to pair an Apothic red wine with my meal, apparently they were trying to get rid of their stock so I got a bottle for half price, silver lining.
Overall I spent $70 not including the tip for a mostly bland, over priced, and ultimately disappointing meal, I wouldn't...
