I had to go back in again. Both times I went for the seasonal items. So I apologize as with timing these items I brag about may be gone.
Inside space is smaller than the exterior so expect to be seated outside more than likely if you want to sit down immediately. We did get lucky since it was a party of 2 to get an indoor table. Outside has fans but on a hot day your going to sweat.
Staff is awesome they are super helpful with recommendations and service.
The French toast is light and fluffy not dense at all. I typically could only manage to eat 2 half slices or 1 whole slice of a French toast. I picked the lemon custard French toast with caramel drizzle on top with strawberries. The French toast was crusted with almond shavings. The lemon was not overpowering sweet it was a bit on the tart side but well balanced. I didn't even bother use the syrup, it was so good.
Second adventure there I selected the seasonal dish of the double chocolate waffle with tres Leche on the side also topped with strawberries. I really thought at this point I couldn't get a double win back to back. Well, let me tell you the waffle was also light and fluffy like the French toast not dense at all and the double chocolate I was nervous about it being too sweet. Not the case at all. The has a light chocolate flavor to it with few chocolate chips. I was dunking my pieces into the tres Leche for that added yummyness. Tres Leche is a mix of condensed milk with regular milk (or evaporated) and heavy cream. This made the waffle a bit more like milk chocolate since the waffle was not sweet chocolate. Again very complimentary mixes.
My sides were eggs and bacon both times. The bacon has a smoked like taste to it, that was a perfect blend to my dessert breakfast. I am a huge fan of sweet and salty so this hit the spot.
The juice says it's 100% percent squeezed but it did taste like regular juice not real squeezed juice. Honestly I didn't care because the food was so delicious.
My partner got the burger both times. He could have ordered another to go if our drive wasn't...

Read moreWhile visiting Siesta Key we stopped here on our last day for breakfast. We arrived right at 7am on Sunday May 23rd and were offered a seat by a super nice hostess anywhere we liked on the beautiful covered patio. Our server was Denise and we were the second party seated, one thing that bothered me is the way Denise talked to the hostess in front of us. Denise was talking to her with a tone that made us feel uncomfortable, it had to do with the way the hostess had seated the two parties and Denise made comments about how many parties would be assigned to her first. The hostess apologized for whatever mistake she made and said it was her first day working alone.
We found Denise to be very gruff and non-friendly, on top of being inattentive to us, after getting our meal she never came back to see how it was or to ask if we wanted more coffee. The only time she came back was to drop our bill off, she was just plain miserable and we felt like we were bothering her. That on top of how she treated a fellow employee in front of patrons wasn't pleasant.
Pros: Great atmosphere and the new covered patio is beautiful! The food and coffee were great!
Cons: Denise's attitude and unprofessional behavior. The other observation was the bathrooms, both were dirty and given we were the first of two parties there upon opening, this was a bit of a turnoff. The trash barrels were over flowing and there were dirty paper towels on the floor and the toilets were very dirty.
Would we return? Absolutely, we'd like to think this experience was not typical. If we could offer any suggestions it would be that older, experienced staff are reminded that their actions are a reflection of the establishment and seeing that we felt awkward watching Denise treat the hostess less than kind, one can only imagine how the...
