Soooo….I want to first say we dined here on spring break. April fools was on is this year. We were told upon arrival we would have a 40 minute wait. We thought okay that a while but we will shop around and make the best of it. Shopped for 40 minutes my husband started getting anxious so we walked over to check in. Well to our surprise they had a table open and we were about to be seated when a woman ran up and said, “I got a text my table is ready, don’t give my table away!” So they gave her the table and told us to wait. Wow. Ok. We expressed that dinner was in honor of. My late mother in law and that we were there to celebrate in her honor and we hoped for a very special evening. Another 40 minutes passed we were really starting to feel like we weren’t going to be seated and in no way felt like a priority. My husband goes back up again and politely asks they said oh my finally we have a table. We wanted to sit out back to enjoy the live music. We were seated in the back corner we could hear the music but we couldn’t view the entertainer. It was cozy but, “nobody puts baby in a corner.” Our waitress was sympathetic to our situation and she was kind and energetic. She recommended the grouper, I asked her if it was spicy she said not really..spiciest thing ever! I couldn’t finish it. I hated to be a bother but I had to get another dish as there was no way my stomach or tongue could handle that. I got the maki roll it was ok at best and way overpriced. The manager was kind and said it was too spicy for his palette as well. My son had the fillet and french fries. He said it was just all right. My daughter had the Maki rolls. She loved them and my husband have the grouper sandwich. He said it was ok at best. We had some piña colada‘s. They were very strong and half melted. After we got our food, I waited for almost 15 minutes before the waitress returned to the table for me to even let her know that I needed to order some thing else my husband actually got up to find her to let her know of the situation, and the manager came out to address it and brought me a new dish. The hostess was stressed out. She repeatedly apologized for not being able to seat us for so long, but I do think that she forgot about us a few times. All in all the experience was not great they did what they could but for a $215 meal for four people I am going to say money is better spent elsewhere. The experience was frustrating. Our server was super nice about everything and the manager was helpful just not the evening that we had hoped for. It is nice you can valet right there if you can’t find parking for five dollars and they were super helpful and Connor was really nice and had a lot of tips for us for the area. I would likely not return here, but do you think that this visit was...
Read moreWe visited The Cottage in the Siesta Keys yesterday 11/26/2024, and it was amazing! From the inviting ambiance to the incredible food, everything exceeded our expectations.
We started our meal with the Black Mussels, which were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The broth was rich and seasoned to perfection, making it impossible not to dip the bread for every drop.
For our main courses, we had a delightful variety: • Blackened Tuna Club with black and white truffle fries. The tuna was perfectly seared, fresh, and flavorful, paired beautifully with the creamy sauce and fresh toppings in the sandwich. And those truffle fries? Absolute heaven! • Filet Mignon with black and white truffle fries and herb veggie medley. The filet was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The veggie medley was a fresh, vibrant complement, and the truffle fries added a luxurious touch to the meal. • New England Lobster Roll with a Caesar salad– an absolute standout! The lobster was fresh, sweet, and generously portioned, served on a perfectly toasted roll. It was the best lobster roll I have ever had! • The service was outstanding as well. Our server Crystal was attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, making it the perfect spot for an unforgettable dining experience.
We can’t recommend The Cottage enough. If you’re in the Siesta Keys and looking for a place to indulge in fresh, flavorful dishes with a touch of luxury, this is the spot. We will definitely be...
Read moreI'm a professional chef of 35 years. This was some of the BEST food I've ever eaten. The 30-minute wait was well worth it. We decided to go back on our 2nd day and would've waited twice as long. We actually ate here EVERY DAY of our vacation. Couldn't get enough. Highly recommend the garden patio out back and porch out front. Wonderful LIVE (different) music every time we were there. Country violin, acoustic guitar, etc. Just like the menu, they suit every need. The atmosphere, ambiance, sevice, and food were what you'd expect from a fine dining restaurant. The pics cover some of our favorites; My God, The Lobster Bisque was out of this world, Maki Lobster Roll (a MUST at least once), Tofu Caesar Salad, Lump Crab Cake, Black n White Truffle Fries, Cottage Chicken Sandwich, Braised Short Ribs (2 different years), even the bathroom artwork If you visit Siesta Key, do NOT make the mistake of skipping a trip to The Cottage. You will have missed one of the best dining experiences SK offers. The Cottage is also on the same street as the BEST SUNSET in the United States. Great for an after dinner walk. I've done a bunch of reviews on Google. This place was, and is STILL, my absolute favorite. It isn't close. UPDATE: 2023: Something has changed. Prices have expectedly increased, but feel the food quality has decreased. Regardless, we're vacation regulars here and still consider The Cottage the best dining experience finale to...
