Elizabeth's Restaurant — Restaurant in Siler City

I have had pizza here and the pizza is wonderful. I am sad to say though that I have had two other dinners and at best I have to rate those as disappointing. The first meal I had I called in directly, and spoke to people at the restaurant. Today my fiancée and I went and had a sit down me ..al. I ordered the Elizabethan 3. I can not remember exactly word for word the meal as it was described. It consisted of supposedly filet minion, chicken breast and jumbo shrimp and a gyro. This was essentially a combination of 1 and 2. Reading the other two meals basically explained each meal. I got concerned because in the menu a gyro was served with either beef or chicken. I called the waitress over and asked her which meat was going to be coming on my gyro. She informed me, that the meal itself came with all the meats previously described and lamb. It also comes cucumber sauce and pita bread.iI was confused but I waited for the meal to be delivered. Well when the meal came, there was strips of chicken, beef, and lamb. There was 4 peices of sliced tomato, on top of a pile of lettuce and cucumber sauce. Sure enough on another dish was triangle cut pita bread. I looked the meal over and realized sure enough you had to construct your own PITA GYROS? For 16.00 dollars this was needless to say disappointing. In none of the meal descriptions for 1,2 or 3 did it describe them as build your own gyros. If you noticed I have not mentioned the shrimp. I had exactly 5 shrimp. They were described as jumbo. I am sorry but I have bought medium sized shrimp from walmart that were bigger. I failed to mention that my fiancée ordered appetizers potato skins. Now most of the time when I have ordered this at other places they came with shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits and scalons or green onions which are basically the same thing. I was going to take a picture of them but I decided not to. When they came there was potatoes with strips of American cheese and some of the potatoes barely had bacon on them AND thats it. It look like they cut 4 slices of cheese in half that goes better with bologna than with 6.00 potato skins. To be honest I have never posted reviews about restaurants before. Like I said in the beginning they have excellent pizza! That is all I have ever odered from here before. After eating this pizzas I thought man I bet their meals are spectacular. Two meals in a row, not so much. Maybe I was ecpecting to much after having enjoyed their pies. I don't think New Yorkers or Italians would put strips of American cheese on their potato skins. I am hoping these two meals that I have ordered were just someone having a bad day and not the norm. If I may make one suggestion, your menus might need a little tweaking so they describe exactly what it is you are actually getting. As for the Elizabethan 1,2 and 3 meals. Gyros I do not think they are served with PITA BREAD. At least others I had eaten were not made with pita bread but these were eaten in greek restaurants. Like I said I will continue to order their great pizza, and I am sure some time in the future I will try another dinner because I am hoping beyond hope that these past 2 meals were errors and not the norm. I give 1 star for the horrible service and way orders are so easily misplaced or not made then have customers wait and wait... then try give them old pizza...Been here 2 times.. new in town and horrible experience with carry out! First time actually received our food.. bit overpriced especially considering the extremely long wait.. an hour for calzones.. then went back to try the pizza.. after ordering our 14" medium sausage and extra mushrooms pizza.. went to store near by.. came back 20 minutes later.. no pizza ready yet! Wait and wait and wait nobody's able to locate our pizza.. well they decided to take pizza from box that had been sitting on top of oven , who knows how long.. and proceeds to just throw ton of mushrooms on this pizza.. already been cooked for I assume someone else..we paid 22$ for old pizza.. not fresh made for us like everyone else is getting.. make us wait almost an hour again and left empty handed.. very upsetting cause was really looking forward to that pizza until saw that we didn't deserve decent service like other customers. No apologies from guy making pizza...I'm very upset over way was done. All we wanted was to order pizza and have it made fresh like rest we seen being picked up.. why did we get singled out for this improper treatment towards a customer? When a customer comes in to order food they shouldn't have to be made to wait excessive amount of time for food to not even be made in order is was ordered. Our ticket got lost or something.. possibly gave our pizza to someone else.. well if that was case should of apologized and remade ours! Not take a pizza been sitting there and just throw mushrooms on it...what about the sausage as well and why couldn't we have one made for us to right the wrong done by the...

Truthfully this is not a really Italian restaurant.

They do have truck parking and that is why we stopped in the plaza and it was late so we were looking for a late dinner.

The appetizer bread not came out they look very pretty. A little extra oily that's just my taste I'm not big into,Some are that's just a preference when it came to the meal I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and my husband ordered lasagna . The spaghetti and meatballs came out looking very pretty in the meat sauce was good. But to meatballs are frozen meatballs. And it's almost a $20 plate kind of expensive to me for Frozen meatball spaghetti and sauce. The lasagna turn out to be more of a manicotti it did not have any ricotta cheese like it's supposed to have. And it looked deflated. It was fourth of the size that it was supposed to be. For $17 The waitress was very uninformed about the food she doesn't eat half of the menu so she really couldn't give me any recommendations and decided to go to eat and leave us high and dry in the middle of the meal.

And after eating my husband's having indigestion problems from fillers. So overall I wouldn't come back. I haven't tried their pizza and maybe that's they're redeeming quality other than parking and they stay open until 10:00 I wouldn't recommend any other...
