My husband and I came in Tuesday for our 9 year anniversary. We arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation to a full restaurant, and were invited to grab a drink at the bar. Our bartender was a delight - friendly, really positive vibes and excellent drinks. The Hugo Spritzer was refreshing, and my husband’s choice, their signature Negroni, was also great.
Shortly after receiving our drinks, the hostess seated us and we were welcomed by our server, Margeaux - what a breath of fresh air! Relaxed, smiling and down right genuine. She checked in with us a time or two as we looked over the menu. (Note: this menu can seem intimidating, it’s Italian and pretty authentic. While we were pretty comfortable, I can see it being a little scary for some. Listening to Margeaux speak with surrounding tables, she’s knowledgeable and very accommodating and patient with questions.)
We ordered calamari to start- it arrived quickly, well-seasoned, nice hand breading and crunch. The caper sauce was flavorful and the red sauce was top notch. I had the Nero, and my husband had Pomodoro. Both were presented beautifully and so, so good and fresh. The scallops were succulent and sweet, the lemon garlic cream sauce was bright and flavorful. (Eat your micro greens! They are such a fun punch of flavor.) Portions are good sized and we both had some to take home.
For dessert we ordered tiramisu (a must). I order tiramisu every chance I get, and have to admit I was skeptical when it came out in a cup, but let me tell you what, it was hands down the best, most perfect tiramisu I’ve had in my 37 years of life.
We are already planning what to order next time we get a date night, and will always remember our anniversary date here. What a treat and wonderful addition to the Sioux...
Read moreMy spouse and I had gotten the last reservation for the night at Maribella located in Downtown Sioux Falls. We had heard good things from friends and family, about Maribella Ristorante and they were proven true. Upon arriving for a celebration. We were told it would be a short wait for our table to be ready which was fine because we were early. We were told that someone would let you know when the table was ready. We decided to order a wine at the bar. We were greeted by the bartender and ordered. While we were waiting, a server at the side of the bar struck up conversation with us, which was so kind and appreciated. Were were seated and it just so happens that we had the same server! Maddie went above and beyond for us. Truly took the time to explain a menu that we were not familiar with and literally curtailed the menu by asking us informative questions. She gave details and we felt like we had known her longer than the short time there. We started with the Calamati Salati perfect and tender. Not chewy. I had the Castole Corte which was absolutely delicious. Perfect for Steak eaters. My spouse had the Fidanzata. She was impressed and would get it again. All food is not only made in house but has an originality not found often in this region. Please read up on the owners story. It's worth the read. Management stopped by to wish us well with our anniversary and went over and above to show us that we were appreciated for choosing them to celebrate with. My wife and I felt like family from the moment we walked to till we left. Literally EVERY employee. From walking you to your table to leaving the establishment and everything in-between.Thank you, Maribella Ristorante. We will see you...
Read moreI wanted so bad to give 5 stars but my dinner was kind of a disaster. I can see that the atmosphere is nice and i wanted to love this restaurant. I have MCAS and if I have gluten i become allergic to the sun/cold/my scars etc so when i saw they specialize in gluten free hand made pasta i was so stoked to try and reserved a table about a week before going. I arrived and they were over booked so we had to wait about 20 minutes past the time (not a huge deal) then the server asked if i had any allergies and was so pleased and told her my gluten allergy and she took note. I then ordered an appatizer and she came back and took our order and our appatizer never arrived. They brought out our meals and mine was not gluten free and i asked her and she said she forgot to tell them. I have a hard time eating anywhere and i guess the mixture of it all caught up to me and she took my plate and left the person i was withs meal to either get cold and wait for mine or to eat without me which is what i told them to do. I went to the bathroom and cried until my meal came out. It was good but my experience was really not great. I did try to lighten the mood and ordered dessert and let her know my appatizer never came and there was no real apology for any of it, no offer for anything to make it right. Paid the bill still tipped 25 percent but feel really off about the whole experience. For a restaurant specializing in gluten free and on the pricier side i would have hoped for a better experience. We paid over 170 dollars for an experience i didnt...
