Parlour used to be absolutely amazing. Sadly, since the change in ownership, the quality has gone downhill dramatically. First, the selection is just sad. When we went in July of 2022, they had five flavors of ice cream, all essentially the same: vanilla, vanilla with Twix, vanilla with Heath, vanilla with assorted candy, and vanilla with Oreos, though they were out of the last one. There were also four flavors of sorbet, but they were all basic and uninspired. The quality has also dropped completely. They went from producing an artisinal, ultra creamy, high butterfat ice cream on par with any nationally respected establishment, to a thin, highly crystallized, almost ice milk style like a bad, generic store bought brand. We walked 8 blocks from our restaurant to find them closed at 9:30pm with a typed out page on the door saying their hours are different due to the fall transition.
Google listings being accurate are crucial. It would take 10 minutes to change the hours on their Google My Business compared to the time it took to type out and post their new hours on the door. Since it wasn't updated, I can't trust when they are open now going forward and can't plan them into my downtown plans.
I recommend calling ahead before...
Read moreThe waffle cone smell that hits you as you open the door is unbelievable. I've tried quite a few of their flavors and all have been delicious (even if it's a flavor with something that I hate). Their black cherry macaron ice cream sandwich is truly an experience. It was so good that I can't even begin to explain how good it was. I adore their flavor that is called opening day (CHP) -- lemon pound cake, blueberry jam, & brown butter ice cream -- it is so so so flipping good. The Nicory with its fennel pollen gelato and candied orange and vanilla crumble is also unusual and delicious. I don't think I've ever eaten anything...
