This is a detailed review on Coffaro's Pizza. I will focus primarily on the bowling aspect of the place, but I will also judge my rating based on the quality of the pizza shop. This will be a long and detailed review, so buckle up!
Bowling
First of all, I just want to preface this by saying that the bowling is fairly priced. It is $2.50 per game and another $1.50 for shoe rental per person.
The oil application on the lanes can be a little strange sometimes, but for the money you really can't go wrong. Don't expect top notch PBA quality bowling. If you just want to have some fun with your friends, then you can't go wrong with Coffaro's.
Bowling Pros and Cons
Pros: -Fairly priced -Shoes are very nice for being affordable rentals -The staff are very quick, friendly, and they get their jobs done efficiently -Fun for the whole family -Party packages are available
Summary of PROS I do not have enough praise for the staff at Coffaros! They are all excellent at their job, polite, and they really know how to get some work done in the kitchen and on the bowling lanes. Very rarely do you see staff waiting around. They are always working... and hard for that matter. Shout out to the guy in the beard that always clears the pin from the ball return for me and my buddy, haha. He always jogs down to the back of the alley and I can respect the hustle. If you ever have a problem with your bowling game, come to the staff and they will fix it for you in no time. The top notch customer service always puts a smile on my face every time that I come visit this place.
Cons: -Lane oil patterns aren't the best -Since the focus is primarily on the pizza aspect of the place, it lacks basic components of a more professional bowling alley. i.e. there is no pro shop, no drilling, etc
Summary of CONS: Overall, if they could maybe hire a few people to have a little more focus more so on the lanes, then it would be very beneficial to the overall bowling experience. They should also add a basic pro shop and drilling section to cater to the more amateur or intermediate bowlers, instead of just the casual or recreational bowler. In fact, the intermediate and pros are your money makers... Just something to keep in mind.
If Coffaro's would hire and or train some sort of dedicated bowling technicians, I would personally spend a little above the competitors prices simply for the convenience of not having to travel for at least 30 mins to find a pro shop. Something for the owners to keep in mind. Your location is prime for people of Slippery Rock because you own the only bowling alley/pizza place combo within ~15 miles. You could definitely cater towards the college kids that enjoy bowling, and to those who want to get into the sport. I understand that opening a pro shop or similar bowling related services might not be a viable business strategy, but it is something to seriously consider.
Pizza First of all, I just want to say that their flavors are great. The pizzas are cooked in a brick oven, and they come out with that classic brick oven flavor. The sauce is absolutely amazing. However, in my opinion, the crust seems a little bland to me. It seems like it could use some kind of seasoning, whether that be garlic, butter, or likewise. Otherwise the pizza is great! Keep in mind that it is very expensive pizza, but you definitely get what you pay for.
In conclusion, the extremely hardworking, and friendly staff are what really sealed the deal for the 4 stars. I would have given 4.5 stars, but I wanted to round down to show the need for some improvements. The main reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is primarily focused on the pizza joint, rather than giving love to the bowling aspect. If they implement changes mentioned in the review, I would be ecstatic to change my review to 5 stars.
Thank you very much for reading my review, and I hope I helped future visitors out, and I hope I gave the staff some ideas that can hopefully get implemented in the future.

Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would!..I ordered food then went and stood near the counter to pay for bowling. We stood there for like 5-10 minutes watching like 5 people behind the food counter and not one of them said a word to us.....I am sorry but if you are going to own a pizza shop and bowling alley maybe train your employees in both areas! Then when we FINALLY got to start bowling within the first two rolls the ball return wouldn't work, so they moved us to another lane. Okay so I can understand technical difficulties but then they moved us to another lane and froze after 2 turns AGAIN!!!! So we are leaving and I tell them that it froze and we are leaving due to this and get our food. No refund for the games that we DIDN'T pay or even an I am sorry please let me give you a discount for something, since we ordered to play 2 games and didn't even get through one full round! then we get home with our pizza and sub...BURNT pizza and a sub par sub. They could have at least brought it around with awesome food but no our night was pretty much wasted. $40 and nothing good to be brought of it. I do not...
Read morelast weekend i ordered delivery from here, the woman who answered told me the food would be delivered in about 30 minutes. an hour had passed and i had heard nothing so i decided to call. the same woman answered and i could immediately tell she was annoyed. she first said “we are closed” when she answered the phone. i just told her the situation very quickly and she responded in a very bitchy tone “yep you do have an order.” i just told her i wanted to make sure that they got the right phone number and address and there was no rush. she raised her tone and said “yep that’s why i told you an hour wait.” i didn’t even say anything after that because i knew what she said originally. the delivery driver was very sweet and apologized for the wait. the food is very good, but the woman who was answering the calls was very rude and...
