Captain D's — Restaurant in Smyrna

UPDATE Oct 15th,2024 : Do not go to this location. As you can see the character at Captain D's responded to my review weeks ago but failed to make this horrible visit right. I spent $40 and the character of Captain D's want to offer me $3 desert for the $40 I lost for the bad food and the sit in service with disruptive employees. I will make another call to corporate owners in the next week or so. Disgusting.

September 2024 : Editing my review because I went recently after years of not got to captain D"s and it was. NIGHTMARE.. not only are some but most of the workers steady and ready to mock you for instance the cook in the back he has no work ethic to that restaurant other than to take his family members free food out to the car when they pull up but if you are a PAYING CAPTAIN D's customer all you gonna get is old food and hard stale buns and it's like he goes the extra mile to make it disgusting. As for the lady with the long hair locs all she does is complain about working and LOUDLY saying she been working their off and on since a teen and she ain't the manager and the manager need to give her time off because she got another job. Did ANYBODY tell her she don't have stocks in Captain D's so instead of LOUDLY running her big mouth until her girlfriend showed up she can just QUIT and stop running her mouth and beg her other job to give her more hours? Cause I OBVIOUSLY she do need the job. I came in at the time that they were speaking on how dirty the drink machines were but that's it they didn't clean them they just complained on how dirty they were and I had to pay for my soda that had no FIZZ at all..I MEAN NONE. IT was HORRIBLE spending $40 on my Birthday for TRASH FOOD. The fish had a weird taste,the hush puppies had no flavor just dough fried,the fries were hard with pieces of other food mixed in. The cash register girl was obviously young and not like the old heads so she can be molded as for the old heads they apparently feel there lack of pay doesn't equate to giving good food delivery and customer service. I haven't even read the other reviews in years but I'm POSITIVE I'm not the only one that washed $40 down the drain had to throw it all away and in these times of high cost it should be ILLEGAL to steal people money cause you know your store isn't up to regulations with your wayward employees and obviously underpaid management. I want a FULL REFUND for this...

The drive thru was long so I went inside. It was empty inside.

I love Captain Ds grilled fish meal. They're the only one's that give you the option to get the fish the way you like and steamed broccoli the way I like it without all that salt and extra coleslaw dressing stuff for the broccoli.

As I was waiting for my grill fish order, I watched the girl at the register with the red hair and long nails Refill a customer drink and touch the top of the lid/cup with her hands. Normally you're supposed to hold the cup at the middle or closer to the bottom but not the top for sanitary reasons. I ordered my food and waited. I watched the girl at the register proceed to touch the top of the customers cups (at the very top where you put the lid on) throughout my wait, scratch her hair, touch her mouth, scratch her hair several times again, bag food, get on her phone, etc. One worker went outside to smoke a vape and came right inside and went to the kitchen. Didn't see her wash her hands before going to the kitchen or anything. Hopefully there's a sink with soap in the kitchen to wash her hands before she touches anyone's food. Haha. However, the girl with the red head was friendly and got my order correct. I didn't order a drink with my meal that's for sure. But the associate needs to know that she should not be scratching her head/hair/scalp and touching people's food. That's how you lose customers. Nobody wants hair...

The company should be ashamed of itself!!! THREE employees! running a shift at the peak of a day! Customers at the drive thru blowing their horn customers inside the restaurant waiting for their order or waiting to place an order., I was one of them, there at 6:15pm. Never in my lifetime had I ever seen such stress and grace at the same time! SHAME on you Capt.D's for stretching the employees so thin to the point of breakdown! and yet the staff was so kind and over apologetic. its not there fault... I contacted the district Manager who said "there are 16 people on staff and if the shift is running on 3 people due to a call out or no show that's on them" THAT LOCATION NEEDS HELP!!! There should always be one person for each duty! NOT one person for multiple tasks! The poor girl taking orders at the window was taking orders for the front and Drive Thru, putting orders together and cashing people out. Ridiculous! The manager also very nice also over apologetic said its always like this we are never fully staffed and when speaking to the district manager, I believe her! I wish I had asked her name., Capt. D's Do you not realize how hard it is to keep good people?! Unfortunately the food was not as good as it usually is, I'm sure it's due to feeling pushed to...
