This is a fantastic spot for reasonably-priced, made-to-order Mediterranean fare. All the proteins choices here can be ordered as a plate, pita, bowl, or salad. I prefer my falafels to be bright green and I'm happy to report that Pita's version is plenty verdant with the herbs in their chickpea mixture. In my typical order, I get them as a bowl and found them to be hot and crispy. Today, I tried them in a pita wrap, which was plenty tasty but the falafels seemed to quickly lose their texture while buried under all the toppings (tomatoes, pickled radish, and - if you ordered it - the spicy sauce). That said, I believe the big benefit of the wrap is the green sauce they use in the spicy wrap. Spice babies should be warned - it doesn't hold back any punches. My husband developed a surprising sheen of sweat after trying just a bite, but I found the slow burn to be the a perfect condiment. From the choice of sides (rice, salad, or fries), I always go with the fries because they're well seasoned with a fun paprika-heavy mix without going erring into the realm of oversaltedness. A surprising highlight of our meal were the triangles of pita bread that came with my husband's gyro platter. These were warmed and well toasted on the outside, while somehow maintaining all the fluffiness on the inside. Clearly, Pita Mediterranean knows how to do their namesake flatbread right. We've never had trouble with parking or seats here, both of which are aplenty. I find the service to be particularly warm and friendly, with one server even offering us a sample baklava to try after our meal.

I grew up in the Chicagoland area. The BEST thing about living there was the diversity and as a result, the diversity in food options. My mother introduced me to gyros when I was about 13. There was a Greek restaurant not far from where we lived. When I was 14 I could take the train to Lake Street and walk there. At 18 this was a place that I went to often. When I was coming up, there would NEVER be a piece of lettuce on a gyro! Nor would you EVER find feta cheese, cheddar cheese, liquid cheese of any kind.EVER. This nonsense started showing up when I was about mid 20’s, as this stuff is obviously cheaper than the gyro meat and used as fillers. I was Jonesin’ for a gyro a while back, & did a quick search and found Pita Mediterranean Street Food in Smyrna. The area is really nice where it’s located. I walked in and ordered. Looking around, the place is pretty nice! There’s plenty of seating, it was clean, and the utensil dispenser is pretty cool! The lady at the register took my order, and I took some videos while I waited. Not gonna lie! Based on the pictures I was pretty excited (even though I knew I was gonna have to knock off that cheese and lettuce! Once I did though; there wasn’t much meat😖 and what there was of it wasn’t much flavor. In truth the meat tasted like it was cut with some other kind of meat, and the Tzatziki sauce was just ok for me. I didn’t look at the menu long enough to see what other sammies they sold. I’d check them out again for something other than a gyro because of location and cleanliness of the restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by this experience. What was I expecting? I honestly do not know what I was expecting. However, PITA Mediterranean Street Food exceeded my expectations. This was an UberEats Delivery order. I mean, look at it. Perfection! I had the pleasure of consuming the Falafel street pita that comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, turnips, fresh parsley, and house sauce with a side of Greek fries, which are seasoned fries topped with crumbled feta and their signature street sauce and house sauce. Let. Me. Tell. You. Something. They ate in the execution of this dish and the freshness of the ingredients. Furthermore, I ate it all. No. Crumbs. Left. I do not even eat turnips and would not seek out or order turnips. I am not sure I even understood they were in the dish when I ordered it, but it was all perfect. Every ingredient complemented the next, and it all came together like a meticulously organized marching band. The presentation was absolutely gorgeous. I want to give a massive shout-out to the individual(s) who prepared the food and to the UberEats driver who delivered this meal and maintained the integrity of the beautiful presentation on the journey from pick-up to delivery. This dish and experience rivaled what I would seek out and anticipate from a restaurant. Well done, well done!

I have been to this location SEVERAL times and the customer service was always a little questionable but this week it was a OBVIOUS bias! I never really get greeted when coming but they normally have. Line so I wrote it off to the flow of business I noticed SOME people get a greeting and some barley even eye contact or a how may I help you. And I tried to write that off as possibly local faces verse strangers which really should make no difference. This time I came in and there were only some delivery services in front of me ...but no standing customers. Once the Door Dasher driver finished the middle age woman with a heavy accent was still standing at the register so I naturally thought she was waiting for me to order....I stepped up....she gave me no smile, no greeting, no question for dine in or to go, online?, NOTHING look me straight in the face and turned to the back counter to prepare togo.....shortly after she turned back to the register where she just stood there with a melancholy look on her face and still said NOTHING...this upset me once I noticed the other workers on the grill were standing looking at me too...NOTHING SAID...I sharply asked are you going to take my order or NO? She said no apologies just pointed to the kids and said are you going to order, I don't know?? I asked her why would I order there? Your standing right here? Were to her response was OK "Go"! As if she was ordering me to hurry and proceed with my order...as you do a stagnant dog that is out to release themselves. 🤨...... I order a Chicken Swarma with spicy hummas.....food was prepared fast, neat and hot presented well ....but I did stand there at the counter and watch them all because at this point I didn't feel welcomed and they were obviously proud and comfortable treated me like this! I couldn't trust the ethics of health code to be followed with my food because of the demeanor. Once I received my food I bit a few bites and as stated there was nothing spicy about the pita.....shortly after the same less than friendly woman came a tossed a small side dipping sauce size of a red looking paste on the table....when I tried to gain positive ground by still smiling at here saying yes I was wondering where the spice was(in a comical manner) she once again looked at me no emotion a d walked back to cooking area speaking a different language to employees sounded honestly disgusted. Then it gets worst.....I got up to get some sharacha dipping sauce to add because once again I didn't trust what ever that RED paste was from the delivery ALONE.... I noticed that the Sharacha was empty and that they had two Tabasco bottles....I burned to the older Grey hair gentlemen and ask if I could have some sharacha? .....as he proceeded to the back to what I would assume to get a new one the same STEEL face woman stopped him in his tracks ...said something in their language and shooed her hand my way as if to tell him don't worry about me....looked the counter and kept whipping! I was APAULED !!! I DIRECTLY ASKED HER WHAT DID I DO TO HER...YOU DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE MY ORDER...TOSSED THAT SAUCE AT ME AND NOW STOP HIM FROM HELPING ME?? SHE HAD THE NERVE TO LOOK ME IN MY FACE SAY WHAT SCRUGGS SHOULDERS (NOT AS A SIGN OF COFUSION BUT AS IF WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT??CHALLENGE) AND UTTERED THE WORDS TO ME, YOU CAN USE WHAT'S THERE!!!!😡 ....ONCE AGAIN ADDRESSING ME AS A RED HEADED STEP CHILD OR MAYBE A BLACK ONE OF OBVIOUS DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS BACKGROUNDS (FROM MY DRESS) I WAS SO HURT AND UNEASY ABOUT THE CONSUMPTION OF THIS FOOD BECAUSE OF HER POOR ACTIONS AND THE PROVEN FACT ENERGY TRANSFERS....I COULDN'T EVEN FINISH MY FOOD.....ASK FOR A TOP FOR MY HUMMAS AND THE LAST DRAW WAS HER POINTING TELLING ME..YOU GO GET.IT....POINTING TO COUNTER!! I HAVE HAD BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE BUT THIS BOLD, DISRESPECTFUL AND PROUD!! I...

I have visited this location randomly off and on since 2020. I’m very particular about what I eat so I’ve ordered the same meal since 2020.

I work in costumer services and understand how expensive life has become so, the service part makes the difference in if your loyal customers will return. I can’t tell anyone what to do but never again will I return with my money.

I came to order my food and it was obviously busy. Now I personally never heard of a 20 minute wait for fast food but we here now. I waited about 10 minutes to order with the cashier taking breaks in between customers to do stuff.

I ordered the same thing I’ve been ordering for the last 3 years. Grilled chicken gyro with no tomatoes and no sauce. I stated no sauce and tomatoes and Navi said Do you want lettuce and onions and I said yes. I waited about 30 minutes for my order and Navi said “thanks for your patience” I said “no problem, have a great night”

When I’m walking out I noticed the meal had tomatoes which I’m highly allergic to and sauce on it. I came back in with the order and she asked is something wrong. I stated it had tomatoes and sauce on it. She said you didn’t say with out those. I said yes I did. She snatch the takeout container off the counter and walked off.

At that moment I was done with the process and requested my money back because you won’t fix my food with that attitude. She begin to speak with the cooks. another man that I’m use to taking orders walked to the kitchen and said did she say no sauce no tomatoes to the cooks and the female cook looked confused cause how is she suppose to know? she didn’t take the order. He snatched the food and walked back to the area where people were waiting.

He began to speak aggressively to a random customer saying he will not be refunding this meal. The guest looked confused cause she’s waiting for her order. I looked at him and said no I’m returning the food. He said to me I’m not giving you a refund and tried to hand me the food like I was going to take it.

He then says you didn’t say without anything. How would he know he wasn’t there? I said I definitely said with tomatoes because I’m allergic. Navi says she didn’t know because it was loud and they were busy. He proceeds to say no cause she didn’t say without because she did this to me last time he remembers me.

I said you’re crazy if you think you’re not giving me my money back. Navi says we will refund you. Then he states yeah, we will refund you but we will never take your order again.

At this point I laughed because I didn’t understand how he thought me supporting this business was a privilege for me. I stated the fact that he thought I would ever be back is ridiculous. Navi gave me money back and I left.

This fast food place is an open space so in front of other guest a member of you team spoke to me in a disrespectful manner because I wanted a refund for incorrect food.

Since you guys don’t need my business I won’t give it to you but this experience is very discouraging for a business I’ve went out my way to support.

I will say the current employees are not who use to work here last year. Those employees have very bad attitudes towards a certain group of people if you understand...

This place recently opened near me. Have never eaten at any location, thoight we'd give it a try as we heard good things. Being that we recently moved here from California, I find myself critiquing the food here often...

The Good:

Seasoned Rice is delicious. Simply cooked and seasoned, would definitely eat again.

French fries are also well seasoned, but could be left in the oil a bit longer.

Grilled Vegetables are nicely thick, and grilled perfectly. However, I think the seasoning could be rethought. And served with a lemon wedge on the side.

Chicken Gyro meat, seasoned well and very delicious, but is cut up so small, the portion equates to 2 small chicken strips.

Pita is pita, it's hard to mess that up unless you're Wal-Mart.

The Bad:

Tzatziki Sauce is actually ranch dressing with slivers of cucumber in it. I like ranch dressing, but I prefer actual tzatziki sauce with a gyro. It is not seasoned or prepared like tzatziki sauce.

Gyro meat, it is not seasoned as well as a traditional gyro rotisserie. The meat is sliced and then diced very small, which I personally am not a fan of.

Tomatoes are dice way to small also. In Greek/Lebanese cuisine things are thick cut/sliced. Left in its almost completely raw and appealing state. The tomatoes here seem to have been chopped up yesterday, and refrigerated for the next day.

I got the Gyro Platter, it was 70% shredded lettuce and rice. The other 30% was meat, onion, tomato, feta.

Ordered my daughter a kid gyro, and didn't realize until we got home that it was just a regular Chicken Gyro. She didn't get a dessert, or drink.

I'd go here again, but I would more than likely be very specific about what I order.

The cheesecake is delicious, doesn't taste like baklava.

**Suggestions for the restaurant:

Get Tyrokafteri and perfect the Tzatziki sauce, it will make a world of difference. Also offer more...
