I have to say, even two days later my mind is blown by the experience I had here. When I drove up there were only two cars in line. I was picking up a smoothie for teacher appreciation week. When I got to the speaker I ordered the smoothie I've been ordering for over 15 years, then I thought let me try the lil angel for my son rather than get him a 20 oz. I know it wasn't listed that there was protein powder, but just to make sure, I asked if there was protein powder in the lil' angel smoothie. silence So I thought maybe she was asking a coworker to confirm. After a few moments I said "Hello?" She comes back and I asked again "Is there protein powder in the lil' angel smoothie?" Silence again. Then a man comes on and said there's just multi-vitamin, no protein. Fair enough, maybe she actually didn't know. I said, "Great, let me get one of those, and a banana berry blast with peanut butter." There was some mumbling on the speaker and I said, "I'm sorry, I can't really hear you." no response So I drove around to the window.
The woman comes to the window and says $12 (and some change) I said "That doesn't sound right, could you read my order back to me?" Her shoulders drop, she sighs and walks away. Then she's walking around and I can tell she's taking other people's orders from the speaker. The man walks into view and I said, "excuse me sir" that's when she walks back, and looks at me, then takes her air pod out of her ear, and I said, "The price just seems low, I wanted to check the order you have."
She responds with, "I'm helping other people while you figure out what you want."
huh???
I am normally that person who 99% of the time considers that not everything is about me, and people have their own troubles, (the other 1% of the time, I'm human and having my own bad day,) but this whole interaction had me confused. First of all I knew what I wanted, just had one question because my son doesn't like protein powder in his smoothie. Everything else was easy peasy. Or should have been anyway.
So at this point I said again, "the price seemed low, I just wanted to know what you had for my order," she starts closing the window on me, and I said, "You know what..." and as she's closing the window, she says, "yeah" So I drove away.
I mean, honestly, if it was MY drink that was missed it would have been fine, but I wanted to be sure the teacher's drink at the very least was part of the order.
The teacher got her smoothie the next day, from a different location, but I don't think I'll ever go back to that location. Even though my prior experiences were really good, based on other reviews, it's...
Read moreWe frequent this establishment regularly because this is the only Smoothie King in the City of Smyrna, GA; however, the leadership (owner and management) clearly don’t understand the meaning of quality customer service.
We consistently place mobile orders AFTER this location is supposed to be open; for example, today, Sun 7/18/23, we placed an order at 10:30 am for pickup at 10:50 am, and even though this location was supposed to be open at 10 am, we arrived at 11 am to pick-up our two small smoothies, yet there was no one here. Worst of all, we were one of 6 cars that are also here, waiting for their mobile orders.
Additionally, when we do place mobile orders, we usually have to wait 30+ minutes to receive our order, regardless of the pick-up time per the mobile order. And finally, to make matters worse, when we do rarely place our orders in person, we’ve had to wait as much as 66 minutes (1 hour and 6 minutes) before receiving order.
The staff does their best, but the issue is clearly poor ownership and/or management, given that choose to often staff one person at a time to operate the two drive-thru windows and one pick-up window.
We came back at 1:00 pm to pick up our order from earlier today, Sun 7/18/23, for pick-up at 10:45 am, we waited 47 minutes to receive our two small orders, and there were nine cars, in addition to ours, and two customers at the walk-up pick-up window here at this time — with only one staff member.
Do better ownership and management. Pay your employees more, train them better, and set them up for success, not failure, by staffing more and showing you care.
As a former restaurant general manager for five years, I know this establishment could do so much business with at least 4-6 staff on hand at all times—as most other Smoothie King locations do.
The picture is of the note I left for them at 11 am when no one was here an hour after they were...
Read moreHello. I am James the store manager here at 2930 South cobb drive. I have been the NEW store manager at this location for the past 2 months. I take pride in what I do & we as a team are doing our best, with what we have.
I apologize for any bad. Horrible or terrible experiences anyone may have had. I am doing my best to turn this place around.
The long wait times, we do apologize about that. I know it may seem as if we only do drive thru. But we are not only a drive thru. But we take mobile & door dash orders as well. So if we have a line around the building, with awesome customers ordering 5/6 smoothies per car. Because they love our smoothies. Plus mobile orders which are mostly 3/4 smoothies per order. Plus door dash orders. Yes at times the wait could be 10-20 minutes.
I know a lot of people do not know that. But we are doing everything possible to make each persons experience a AWESOME experience. I am CLEANING up the OLD & doing my BEST to provide nothing but AWESOMENESS to our customers.
I want to leave my customers with something that may help some & change the mindset of others. So the next experience is better & more understanding.
We here at smoothie king provides the best service we possibly can each time.
Smoothies are PERSONAL. So we have to understand. We are not little Caesars. We can not have it COLD & READY. But we are like Mcdonalds YOU CAN HAVE IT YOUR WAY.
Which is why I said smoothies are personal. Each smoothie depending on all the LOVE put into it, takes approximately! 1-2 minutes blended PROPERLY. Which means if one car orders 3/4 smoothies, that is approximately 3-8 minutes just for one car.
Again I as the store manger & my employees love what we do, we are working very hard to do the very best that we can. We hope any unsatisfied customer/s would reconsider giving us another chance.
I Sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings,
Store...
