This place is better than it's counterpart in Duluth when it comes to flavor. Unfortunately the service here sucks too. Can't put the blame on being too busy with not enough servers, since we saw 5 in a small 20 table place. We arrived and after couple minutes we're finally greeted and pointed to a table to sit. Wait for another 5 minutes to get our menus from another waitress. Decided on what we wanted and waited for another 15 minutes to have someone take our order. Noticed that other people were coming in and were promptly seated and were given warm hand towels. I asked about the hand towels with another waitress and she promptly brought ours with me over hearing our original waitress asking what she was doing that for. Not to be stereotypical or judgemental but it seems like your typical Asian/Chinese place where they pay attention to the non Asian guests more. Just our observation at their interactions with the other guests around us. But that's that for the customer service and we will unfortunately not make an effort to drive out of our way back again.
Now on to the food, it was excellent which makes our decision not to return a disappointment for us. We ordered the King Seafood soup, which was sweet and not sour like a tom yum soup. Light and sweet with the seafood flavor as advertised with small little crab claws, clams, squid, mushroom and tomatoes. For entree we ordered the honey crispy duck, sweet and sour pork and finally the ginger fish. The honey crispy duck is a definite must try, it doesn't taste like you Chinese Peking duck and more fried. The skin was tasty and the side sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The sweet and sour pork sauce tasted good but the pork cutlet used was dry and chewy, I would recommend anything else besides pork for this dish. The ginger fish was crispy with a flavorful sauce but definitely needed rice with it since it was a bit salty on it's own.
The special menu items that we saw were exactly the same as the Sri Duluth location, nothing different. But the entrees and appetizers were different than the Duluth location. We didn't order any sushi from the menu but looks standard to both locations. We did order the Uni for $7 each and tasted fresh unlike some other places we've been to prior.
I would of given this location a 4 if the service was better. It's been awhile since I...
Read moreWhat you need to know: Surprisingly solid Thai food for a fusion spot. Some things may be a bit sweeter than you'd expect, so go for the spicier options if that's not your thing.
Ordered via UberEats
Food: Ordered Green Curry, Spicy Basil Fried Rice, Thai Egg Rolls, and Tom Ka Kai. I'm very picky when it comes to my green curry, and this one definitely passed my test. Wasn't super watery, had more of a creamy feel, and had some great Thai flavors - wish it would've been spicier though, I'll probably specify I want it spicier in the notes next time. All the veggies in the green curry were perfect as well. Would definitely order again. The spicy basil fried rice was decent enough, nothing out of the ordinary, but again, not really that spicy. Now I'm not a crazy spicy person, but I do like a slight burn and this didn't give me any - tasted a tad bit sweeter than I was expecting, but still good. The Thai egg rolls were a nice surprise, the chicken and veggies in a crispy wrapper were delightful! Would completely recommend as an appetizer or a nice accompaniment to your meal. The Tom Ka Kai however was probably the biggest disappointment to the meal. It wasn't bad persay, but in the versions I've had at other spots, including at top spice, they've definitely been spicier with visible chili in the soup, however here this was definitely way too sweet. It was like they barely added any spices to the coconut milk in making the soup. Will definitely specify I need this spicy in this next time. That being said though, the soup - sweetness aside - was decent enough and the chicken and mushroom were cooked well.
Price: Ended up paying about $70 with delivery fees and tip included. Definitely more than I'd usually pay, but to be expected. This was around $50 without the delivery fees and tip, and honestly that sounds maybe $10 than I'd normally pay, but still within a reasonable range.
Overall, this was some solid Thai food. I'd definitely order from here again, but will probably go for the Duluth location since it's closer to me next time. There are other better spots around town, but for a fusion spot, this is solid. I'll have to try their sushi next time to see if they hold up that end of...
Read moreThis was a nice place! The menu was large and had a lot of options! The customer service was ok, not great. The tables were a little too close to each other as the person behind me kept backing up into me and either didn't realize it or just couldn't do anything about it. Some of the menu was a little confusing, and the server did not seem to understand that I did not want meat in my dish. I ended up having to order a different item because I was afraid they didn't understand. It was not a huge deal, but the meal I ordered I wasn't a huge fan of. I guess it does entice me to go back and try something else! The curry my wife ordered was requested to be extra spicy because she has a high spice tolerance. I don't, but I didn't think her curry was that spicy. So if you're looking for some heat, this might not be the place for you! The decor was nice, and I'm going to be nitpicking, but the music was very poppy and did not fit with the vibe of the restaurant. You can tell by the name and the menu and even the staff that it is supposed to be an Asian restaurant, but the music made it feel like a swanky night club. It was a little too loud and a little contradictory to the feel of the restaurant. Again, a little nit picky, and it didn't ruin the experience. The parking lot is horrible!!!! Hard to get in to the parking lot and then on a busy Friday night with a bunch of other restaurants open, we ended up having to park a bit away from SriThai. I did not enjoy that! I like the place and I would go again. If you're in the Snellville area and want decent Asian food, I recommend going here, but...
