We were excited to try out Freestone, but our first time will definitely be our last time. Here are the reasons why: the person in front of me ordered and paid online for something gluten-free, and when she got to the front of the line they were out, and she was obviously disappointed (saying this is necessary for her family), but the employee didn’t show much empathy or sympathy. Then, when we got to the front of the line, I ordered a cold brew and they were out and my son ordered a breakfast burrito and they were out. This was on a Monday morning at about 9:30 AM.

We went there to try their food and coffee, but none of what we wanted was there, so we both ordered an overpriced breakfast sandwich. Both sandwiches were $11 and were worth a maximum of $7.95. Our money would have been better spent at Starbucks! The outdoor tables were dirty and again, the employee wasn’t accommodating and after she took our order, she literally just walked off and didn’t say anything. I then had to wait around and ask her if she would call us when the breakfast sandwiches were done. She said she would. Eight minutes later I walked back in and the breakfast sandwiches were sitting on the counter. She must’ve forgotten to call us.

Anyway, you can see the menu and see that it’s very overpriced. Unfortunately this is another place that will likely last a year or...

I stopped by this morning in between some work appointments to grab breakfast and the burrito was delicious... I also grabbed a loaf of their fresh sourdough (with the olives) and am blown away.

I've been traveling around western washington for work on a daily basis for years and stop at many shops, both chain and smaller mom n pop shops as I find them for food during my travels. This is only the second place I've run into which I will certainly be going back to in my free time regularly, despite it being well over an hour round trip from my home... specifically for their bread.

The people that work their are very kind, it's very clean, and the aroma once I stepped inside was blissfully...

I really wanted to love this place and this is my second visit after giving them one more try - owner I assume, he is not welcoming at all - not that my comment even matters, but really wanted to support local and do most time - however Chickadee and Honeybucket just down the street 10/10 LOVE those guys! Freestone welcome your guest with a better attitude and no judgements they are the ones who want to support your business! Had I not left twice with the same feeling I would have just not gone back and not left a comment but please do better - you have a great opportunity and lovely food items - fyi girls at the counter sweet and awesome does not reflect...

Update 3/2/25: stopped by and they now have espresso and coffee! Run by the same family that started Arete Cafe, so the coffee is excellent. ------ Best breakfast burrito in the area for grab and go. I was surprised to find so much quality fresh made food here: sandwiches, salads, baguettes, sourdough loaves, croissants, cookies, all the baked treats, etc. The organic premade and cook at home meals look awesome. Nice surprise to grab a coffee, burrito and hit the road.
