Rating Reflection: 🌟🌟🌟🌟Walking into Mike’s Pastry was a delightful surprise. Renowned for their sweet treats, this chain cafe managed to exceed my expectations with their baked goods.

Industrial Chic Decor: šŸ–¼ļøšŸ› ļøThe Assembly Row location sports a unique ā€œindustrialā€ vibe, characterized by exposed pipes and an urban aesthetic. The cool wall paintings add a splash of artistic flair to the space, creating a dynamic and modern atmosphere.

Service Standard: šŸ™‹ā€ā™‚ļøService at Mike’s Pastry is efficient and straightforward. The behind-the-counter approach ensures quick service, allowing the delectable pastries to take center stage.

Culinary Delight: 🧁The food, particularly the vanilla cupcake, was the highlight of the visit. Its full, cakey bottom paired with thick, rich frosting provided a satisfying texture and taste. Unlike airier alternatives, this cupcake delivered a substantial and indulgent experience.

In Retrospect: šŸ¤”Mike’s Pastry - Assembly Row marries an industrial-chic ambiance with the comforting allure of classic baked goods. It’s a destination where every bite is a testament to traditional baking excellence.

Mike’s Pastry at Assembly Row is a must-visit if you’re a fan of classic Italian desserts! Known for their legendary cannoli, this location offers all the charm and deliciousness of the original North End shop but with much more space and convenience. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by rows of mouthwatering pastries — cannoli, lobster tails, cookies, biscotti, and more. It’s hard to choose just one!

I tried the classic ricotta cannoli and a chocolate-dipped version, and both were absolutely perfect — crisp shells filled generously with fresh, creamy filling that wasn’t overly sweet. The quality was just as amazing as I remembered from the original Mike’s. The lobster tail pastry was huge, flaky, and filled with a rich, custard-like cream that was completely decadent.

The staff were friendly and efficient, even though the shop was busy when I visited. Service was fast, and everything was packed carefully so the pastries stayed fresh. There’s also a nice amount of seating if you want to enjoy your treats right away, which is a big plus compared to the crowded North End location.

Prices are fair considering the size and quality of the pastries. It’s very easy to stop by while shopping or walking around Assembly Row, making it a perfect treat during a day out. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, Mike’s Pastry at Assembly Row is absolutely worth the stop. I’ll definitely be back to try even more...

HORRIBLE RACIST EMPLOYEE. This happened a while ago. One time, I was in the area and thought to get some pastries. As soon as I stepped foot inside the bakery, instead of being greeted, one of the employees behind the counter immediately started giving me a death glare and it lasted the whole ten or so minutes I was there. This was the first and only time I was ever at this Mike's Pastry location.

It made me feel unwelcome and very uncomfortable. I commented on how pretty the pastries looked and she took on a very harsh and extremely condescending tone with a full eye roll, saying that "Yeah! Those are marzipan-!" Like I didn't already know what marzipan was......

I had tried their cannoli before and thought they were not tasty at all and waaaaay overhyped, so I wanted to get something I hadn't tried before. In the end, I got two pieces of ricotta pies, which were pretty bad by the way, even though originally I was planning on getting more pastries for my friends I was on my way to meet. Her attitude made it hard to stay any longer. She also made sure to follow me along the counter so I couldn't get the other employee to take my order.

I should've called her out for that attitude or left right away. Bad food, worse service....

Pastries are impeccable. Service was great. The atmosphere could be either much more elevated OR embraced as is, a bit more.

I brought my partner there for his first Mike's experience. I know this is blasphemous to say as a native Bostonian, but they do not have the best Italian pastries. Their canolli's are fine, but not the best. However, if you are going to get a canolli from there, get the Florentine. It has been my main go to from them. The nutty and caramelized shell is much better than their thick bland dough shell. Also, if you're looking for tiramisu, DO NOT GET THE CUP. This applies to the creme brulee. The cup of tiramisu is just their left over whipped cream from the actual tiramisu cake with a few scraps of cake. And by few, I mean like 5 crumbles. The creme brulee is not torched so it's just a weird textured attempt at a custard. The main reason I took my partner there was actually for rainbow cookies. His favorite. These were a let down. Very dry cookies, and just a top layer of chocolate covering. It was also somehow lacking almond flavor.
