Valley of the Moon Tasting Room — Restaurant in Sonoma

Went to Valley of the Moon winery with relatives over the holiday weekend. When we walked in we were greeted by a gentleman and was very nice. We walked to the other side of the bar for tasting and unfortunately the person who started talking to us was extremely rude and disrespectful. My husband and I both work in the wine industry and we have never come across this type of service, or non-service. We left without tasting and will not be back. We had such a nice experience at Valley of the Moon! Shelby, our hostess, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely engaged. The wine was lovely, we really loved the Bough and the Boars Blood! Overall I preferred the reds to the whites, my friend liked the Pino Malbec Rosé, I don’t like Rosés so my opinion doesn’t count. We were members for two years, but we joined because they were Canadian-owned and because of the people who worked there. While they are still Canadian-owned, it seems the Canadian owners have either made the working environment unattractive and folks have left or they’ve fired them outright (seemingly blaming them for their own misunderstanding and mismanagement of their California property).
