Five Guys — Restaurant in South Burlington

Five Guys is a truly great fast food joint! My first impression was that their employees seem genuinely to be working there which just makes it that much more pleasurable an experience than going to a McDonalds or another leading national chain where most employees seem like sad-looking, zombies. I must say that their burgers are moist, juicy, delicious, and grilled to perfection. In addition to the normal bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mayo, relish, and mustard, Five Guys also offers such rarities as grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and even jalapenos if one so desires. They also give you plenty of french fries, even if you only order a small. In addition to burgers and fries, they also have hot dogs and fried veggie sandwiches which are pretty darn good, too. Their milkshakes are to die for and they also serve Coca-Cola products through one of those fancy, fountain machines with a near infinite combinations of additional flavorings. Refills on Coke products are free, too. One word of caution though. If you or your friends or family members have peanut allergies, Five Guys is just not for you. They cook their fries in peanut oil and have free, fresh peanuts all over the place for customers to munch on. Let me start by saying i eat here quite frequently. Today was the first "bad" experience I have had. Although there were 15 people working behind the counter, They got put under pressure and flopped. It was just before 4pm, the place was full but thats no excuse for the SLOP we got served. I asked for EXTRA jalepenos and got 2. Had so many green peppers and onions that i had to search for the undercooked (red and cold in the middle) burger. It turned my stomach. The burger as a whole was in pieces before i touched it (BUN INCLUDED). The fries tasted left over and along with the burger COLD. Very disappointed with the over all service today. Devastatingly, we don’t have a Five Guys closer to Middlebury, so we come whenever we get the chance. I think I have had both of my very best Five Guys experiences at this location. The fries we had last night were certainly the best I’ve ever had at a Five Guys, the burger was amazing, and the manager as well as the workers were kind, friendly, and executed our meal with care. The place was impeccably clean, and they cheerfully made us our meals even though we rushed in 3 minutes before closing. This was 08/13/25.
