Came here for the first time on a Friday evening. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not busy, but it was just after 5:00pm. The server was very nice. I wanted a hard seltzer but they did not have any. Our server got me a sample of an IPA to try, but I went with a mixed drink. They do have cocktails and margaritas, which I did not see until after ordering (my fault). They have typical foods you would find at a Mexican restaurant. But they have their own twist, like mashed potatoes on the chicken tacos (that is what my Dad ordered). After debating whether to go with their chicken soup (avocado, cheese, chunks of simmered chicken---yum!), I chose the fajita bowl Texas style (shrimp, chicken, and beef). My dish was pretty good. The first bite kept me going. I would order it again but only with shrimp. By the time we left, the restaurant was very busy; lots of families eating.
Pros: -Inexpensive bottled beers -"Free" chips and salsa but there is a catch -House margaritas sensibly priced with fair amount of alcohol -Lunch menu -Screened in porch for outdoor seating -Plenty of parking -Affordable food
Cons: -I was charged $1.00 for salsa (I'm assuming for the chips and salsa provided to our table without prompt) -I was charged a fee for paying with a credit card (around $2.00) -I had a coupon for 10% off a bill of $30.00. My total was more than $30.00, but I only received the discount for the first $30.00 (fine print?) -Their spiciest sauce is not that spicy
I would say I want to come back and try that soup, but the billing process and additional fees left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I'll get over it and come back for lunch with CASH payment and avoid the chips and salsa. In the meantime, I would give this place a 3.5 if I could, but I rounded to the higher star amount because it is a...
Read moreFirst visit. 4 of us entered and each of us wondered what had been in here prior, as this restaurant is an "open" feeling L shape that looked more fitting for an industrial company. It is large with a lot of space, but nothing being used to make the restaurant "warm", which is important. There is no feeling of comfort, which adds to the enjoyment of a meal. Our server was very nice, but did not understand questions we asked about the menu. One entire page given in addition to the regular menu listed at least 12 or more offerings, but was written in Spanish. None of us understood what these food offerings were. Our server could not explain them as she did not comprehend what we were asking her about them. Mainly, what were they? Again, although very nice, a server should speak the language of the majority of customers. We all ordered our favorite Mexican dishes. 2 of our foursome thought their's was fine. Myself and another person were deeply disappointed. I took one spoonful of one of my dishes and stopped there. I just left it untouched from that point on. Fortunately the regular menu was in English and easy to understand. This is not a restaurant I...
Read moreI read your reviews which were very positive so decided to try you. I got take out for six. The person taking our order had difficulties communicating but my friend, who speaks fluent Spanish, explained what we wanted. We went over the order with her before placing it in person. It was correct. When we got back to my house, we found that we were missing a dinner, my husband didn't get beans & rice on his burrito although I was charged for the them. I had chicken Enchiladas Verde. The worst I've ever had! The only thing in the taco was a small amount of chicken with very little sauce, cheese & sour cream on top. Another person had a pork burrito with very tough pork. And the last person had a Burrito Carnitas, which was a disapointment as well. Needless to say, you lost...
