Monterrey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

The food was definitely disappointing. 6 of us went and all had very very similar experiences and all agreed the only things that didn’t taste completely off were the fries, rice, chips, salsa and tea. Those few things were good. Unfortunately, tacos, no. Beans heck no. Pollo fundido, no. Cheese dip, double no. Taco meat tasted like slim Jim’s, pollo fundido had a mayo taste to it, beans tasted like stale coffee (crazy ik but I kid you not) and the cheese dip had a weird nutty flavor to it and came out cold and thick. We had to ask them to reheat it and it still didn’t taste right and got thick again in just a few minutes. The waitress was very kind though but didn’t check on us much at all even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. But for the price I was really hoping it would be a better experience. I’ve never had anything bad to say about a Mexican restaurant before but this was unlike anything I’ve had before. Just want people to be aware before choosing this restaurant and know what to expect before spending your money. I hate to give these Karen vibes but I was so sad leaving. It’s crazy because we use to eat here all the time and never had a bad experience...

Manager is very rude!!! The manager took our order. My boyfriend ordered a fajita with no onions. When the food came out it had onions. He said oh I didn't want onions. The sever which was very nice and professional said I'm sorry ill take it back for you as that's what they should have done. The manager brings his food right back sets it in front of my boyfriend and says you didn't tell me no onions I don't take it back for you and walked off!! My boyfriend kept his cool still as I was very irritated about the situation. Then to top off everything it was 915 when we got there at 10 the server came to us and said I'm so sorry but the manager said y'all need to hurry up were about to close I'm so sorry its not me. At this point I'm ready to blow a gasket. Keep in mind we are in our late 30s. We're not cutting up, being loud or anything. I have no idea what his problem was but I have never in my life been treated so awful as a paying customer or even rushed out of a business. I boxed up the rest of my food and we were leaving and we were over charged by $8. We didn't say anything we just paid and left. Never ever will we ever go back to this location! Very...

Absolutely awful... Used to come here regularly and always pleased but the last few times have been terrible. Our last visit ended with roaches climbing up on the table just as we were getting our check. My husband urged me to try it again and everything was horrible. The waitress acted as if we were an inconvenience, as we have a 1 1/2 year old.none of the high chairs had working buckles, and when we asked for another that worked, they acted as if they didn't know. We ordered the food and were brought cold cheese dip. The food was either over cooked or cold all the way around. Then just when we had already decided it was enough... We asked for the check. The waitress asked if she could clear plates and took even our drinks before we could even look at our check. The service was horrible all the way around.

Never again... And the worst chile relleno ever. I spoonful of beef topped with a quarter piece of bell pepper and topped with cheese is no true Chile relleno.
