Overall some of the food is good and the service needs improvement. The fried noodles are not traditional hibachi noodles. They are like flat Ramen that is wavy and very soft like typical Ramen. They are in a sweet teriyaki sauce and have a $3 upcharge on top of your$25 meal. The filet mignon was mostly great but there was some gristle in 3 pieces. Fried rice was bland and prices are not up to date on the menu they hand to you in the restaurant. We would not come back. The ventilation system is not working as well as all the other hibachi restaurants I've been to. I felt like i was breathing in all these different fumes from our cook and other tables. Worst hibachi experience ever, both food and service.
Menu prices are not up to date. We were charged $2.50 more than prices listed. We asked our server to fix our bill but she gave us a hard time about it blaming the owner and the computer . When I order from a menu with prices listed there is an agreement and that is the price I will pay. It was eventually fixed while my family waited in the car for me.
The rice was bland not flavorful at all. Maybe we had a new cook because he didn't do any of the usual fun hibachi stunts. We should have sent the fried rice back since we didn't eat it so we wouldn't have to pay the $3 upcharge for steamed rice that wasn't fried right. We didn't eat it. There is a $3 upcharge for fried rice or noodles for all meals including children's meals although the menu says differently
Came for Sunday lunch and we were never greeted but my advice would be to talk to the staff and specifically tell them that you want to be seated because a couple who came in after us went to find help and they were seated before us even though 4 employees looked at us and even the woman who would be our server walked past us to close the middle set of entrance doors but never greeted us.
$1.75 for children's fried rice upcharge but our server argued that the correct price is $3 for children's fried rice upcharge, same for everybody she said after she gave us the bill but we insisted on the agreed price on the menu they handed us that we ordered and in the end they...
Read moreDepending on what you want from a restaurant, you'll get much of what you need and maybe not quite all. First off, the place does not look imposing - the outside looks like decoration and keeping it up was almost an afterthought. Now there is a pretty good size parking lot so that part is a plus. As you could expect, on a Saturday late afternoon there was rather a long wait I've been on the order of almost 2 hours. The place inside has nice seating etc and has kind of an interesting layout with a bar and none hibachi style to the left and then all the hibachi cooking area tables to the right. The decorating was very very plain. On the food side they have a lot of nice sushi the crispy California roll that I got was quite good. I did try the Japanese egg rolls and I will say that the crust was superior but the inside just tasted like a bunch of cabbage it was very bland. Now I had a shared dinner, and part of the food was the filet and the scallops very much on the plus side, the scallops were among the best I think I've had at a Japanese steakhouse. The filet was certainly good, although the pieces were a little bit too large for me. the gentleman who did the cooking tried very hard to entertain us with small jokes, but they were very subtle and you had to listen closely in order to get them. My wife and I and the rest of our party did catch all his jokes so we were constantly laughing. He did a nice job with the food prep. Oftentimes, the cook is so interested in going quickly and flinging his arms around Eddie kind of makes a mess where he's cooking. This guy was an exception - he kept this cooking area neat just about the whole time. The food was quite good with the exception of the Japanese spring rolls. I would certainly go back there again. The prices were competitive and not as high as many places I've been to like this. Now the wait staff was very attentive so they get two stars on that. All in all, this...
Read moreHad never been to this location, and we were in Southridge, so we decided to give it a try. I wasn’t impressed with it at all. First of all, it’s real crammed in there, real loud, and the tables & decor looked cheap. As soon as I saw the raw food the chef brought out, I knew we made a bad choice going here. The seafood and meat looked ragged. The chicken breasts & steaks look like they had been chewed by an animal, and they had the smallest shrimp I’ve ever seen at a Japanese Steakhouse. We couldn’t understand a word the chef was saying. He was all over the place, sloppy, and kept saying the same unintelligible jokes over & over. No joke, like at least 20-25 times. To the point where it was getting awkward. We wondered if he was possibly intoxicated. After about an hour, we finally got to eat. The portions here are definitely below standard. The chef spent so much time babbling and pretending to squirt us with water 87 times that he burned the chicken & rice. My “filet” had a big piece of chewy fat (WHAT?!). He didn’t wipe up the soy sauce he splattered on the table, so the table was a mess. The waitress was real nice though. She was the one thing that was good. Greatly disappointing. I was with my family, and we were celebrating our Christmas since it was postponed due to the weather, so I didn’t want to cause a scene or anything. Forty five dollar meal, and I don’t even drink alcohol! I just paid & left… licking my wounds on the way out, per se lol. Oh well, you live and learn. We should have driven to Fujiyama, and definitely will from now on. Sorry, Hibachi… You get 👎👎👎👎👎 Fujiyama is...
