IHOP — Restaurant in South Charleston

We went to this location today. This was the worst service and food I've had since ever eating at IHOP. Our food took a little over 40 minutes for our food which is eggs and pancakes. The food was mediocre at best and some dishes served cold or over cooked. We ate because we were hungry. The service was sub par. The server didn't get us refills til we got up went to the host stand and asked for the manager. The server hid out away from our table in the kitchen and our drinks were empty a very long time.The server never apologized or saw if we needed anything. Instead of rolling silverware they brought it in a basket with a stack of napkins. Also the server didn't follow the steps of service. The manager we will call her dirty blonde chunky Karen who refused to give us her name came with an attitude to the table. She was very short and wouldn't listen to our complaints. I asked who her boss was and she said she was the general manager and I told her we didn't appreciate her attitude and rudeness. She stated her Boss was Bob the owner. Well Bob the standard has fallen at this location. The servers talked about the customers and thinking people couldn't hear well guess what we heard every word you said and so did other guests. Employees also complained in the bathrooms loudly where other guest of the restaurant can hear. My nephews chicken tenders were rock hard and kinda burnt. My brother in laws food was served cold. My daughter's pancakes were not done when they finally brought the food. The ball was dropped from the kitchen, server, and manager . Instead of having attitudes ask "How can I help?", Validate concerns/complaints as this goes a long way in the service industry. Own up to mistakes and make things right as a restaurant. Things could have been different if the attitudes and behavior of the staff were different and the general manager was one of the worst so I guess the employees follow the example she sets. They did offer to remake plates of food stating it would only take 4 minutes but we said no as it took so long to get food we knew it would of been another 40 minutes on a remake. We will never be back to this IHOP. Some people in my party didn't eat at all and just went elsewhere to eat after leaving IHOP due to this horrible experience.

2/15/24 Slooooow service. It took 10 minutes for our server to take our drink orders(no exaggerating). We didn't know he was our server. We thought he was the hostess. The bus boy Chris was more attentive to us than our server was. Chris also went to round up the servers to sing happy birthday to us and he sang with them. We asked our server for our bill but he never brought it so my family went to the car while i waited in line at the counter for our server to help a couple pay their bill which took 5 minutes, a long time just to pay a bill. It took a while for my bill to get paid too when it was my turn. Then I found Chris to tip him $3 because he helped us enjoy our meal but he was reluctant to accept it but I convinced him to. It was only 7:30 and the whole restaurant smells like fabuloso so strongly that even after I left I could still taste it in my mouth like I swallowed an air freshener(and we were on the complete opposite side from where they were mopping). I could hear the profanity laden music loudly playing from the kitchen. Every other word was profanity along with strings of disgusting words. The service is really bad here and we only came because my son picked IHOP for his birthday so he can get the funny face pancakes and he likes their birthday song otherwise I wouldn't have come back and still don't plan to in the future, not even if the birthday boy wants to.

Lots of food under foot. My feet were slipping on greasy squashed french fries. The floor is covered with filth on every square foot under the table. The table was set with napkins and silverware but there was syrup and food in many spots.

It took one hour for our food to come out because one grill wasn't working. They knew this before we ordered with a baby. It would have been nice to know before ordering so we could go somewhere else or go home!

Kids drinks are no longer included. They are now 99 cents. So if you order a kids meal for $5.59 plus a drink, that's $6.58.

My omelet came without anything inside except cheese. The meat and veggies were all just on top so definitely got less of them. They are always supposed to make it with the meat and veggies mixed...

If I could give zero stars I would, I haven't eaten here an a long while and decided to give it a try since was kinda decent the last time, I placed a curbside order for family breakfast 45 dollars, I chose to pick it up 30 mins which was long then ASAP time they wanted to give me, I got there and it kicked me out the app so I had call to let then know I was there for my order, no one answered the first time so I waited a few and called again, the lady didn't ask my name or anything just told me they were behind and they'd be out with my food when it was ready, I waited in my car for 30 mins before deciding to go in, I sat and waited about 10 mins longer watching one group.of ppl walk out cause no one so much as served them water, and 2 others telling me they were waiting for their food. At this point I lost hope in the quality of the food when ever I would get it, so I asked a server for someone to give me a refund, that's when the woman came out with my food, I told her I was wanting to ask for a refund and she rudely asked "for why" I didn't wanna argue with her as she was already standoffish and rude but I didn't wanna eat the food and rather get a refund and go somewhere else. I took the food anyways and she slammed the receipt on the counter after shoving the food in my hands and storming off. The food was warm, but soggy and bland, it was all slapped together and my eggs had pieces of ham or other meat of some sort in it. Needless to say, I will NEVER in my life be eating at this place again, no matter the location, no matter the reviews! Terrible service, rude employees, just down right...
