My parents recently had their 3rd bad experience at China Gate. We have been going to China Gate for over 40 years. The woman that takes the orders was extremely rude and disrespectful to my father. My mom asked the woman would she need a name or a phone number at the time of pick up because my dad would be picking up the food. The woman said, "No problem, I know you, I know your order."
My father arrived he gave the phone number the woman asked what did he order. My father didn't know because my mom ordered the food. The woman totally disregarded my father and went to the next customer. She didn't even attempt to find my parent's food. This exact thing happened to my father once before and the customer behind him attempted to take up for my father because she didn't agree with the way my father was being treated. Both times, my father left with no food.
Because of this poor service, my parents are thinking about finding another Chinese restaurant to frequent.
This angers and saddens me. We never had this issue with the previous management. To the staff at China Gate, but more specifically, to the woman that takes the orders, please learn to be more respectful and kind to your clientele before you find yourself losing more and more...
Read moreMy Mom and Grandparents loved the original restaurant. I remember going. I remember on Saturday night was dinner and movie night. My Mother always spoke of a warm friendly atmosphere with consistently great food. After moving back to Cleveland and my Mother telling me that china gate was back. I have noticed a disturbing decline in food and service to all customers. Lab Techs I worked with said on too many occasions the food was not consistent and staff seemed prejudice. I kept this all stored in my memory bank. This past Wednesday I had worked long hours and was hungry but was too tired to cook. I got a vegetable fried rice and vegetable egg roll. When I got home I noticed the unusual smell coming from my backpack. I opened the container of food and it smelled . I didn’t order meat I didn’t know where the smell was coming from. I poured some of the rice out and noticed the consistency of the peppers. The peppers had a gummy consistency and an awful smell. I threw everything out. This is not what people fell in love with.As far as I’m concerned this tradition is dead. When a company no longer cares about the product they give to its customers...
Read moreI have been going to China Gate for years, but this time I had egg shells throughout my Chicken Fried Rice. When I called to report it, the lady on the phone simply said, "oh it comes from the eggs"! I expressed that I understood shells can fall in, but they are obligated to take them out!! She did not offer to replace the dish and when I asked what they normally do when a person's meal is not up to standard? She said, "we don't do anything"! Enough said for me, I told her thank you and I would post my review with photos and never grace the doors of their...
