If you are looking for cheap garbage Chinese food, then by all means, go to Panda Express. Let me elaborate. We ordered online to save a little time, and despite the new building and nice location, this place has staff that do not seem to be trained at all. The owners or management of the restaurants in that area are generally some of the laziest: so the chain restaurants are awful. I can think of three locally-owned Chinese restaurants within a short drive that are all better. Let's get into why this place was so bad. We pulled into the drive-through lane just to let them know we were picking up the online order that had already been paid for. It was no problem once the person at the window actually got around to us. It was a Tuesday, so it was relatively busy: as in four cars in the parking lot and one person ahead of us. This was just after 7pm. Noodles were undercooked and had no flavor. Vegetables were flat out raw. And make no mistake, zucchini, broccoli, carrots, and so on are supposed to be cooked. The actual entrees were just awful, and tasted like they were fried in hotter oil to save time. My beef tasted like the breading and had a disgusting texture. My chicken was pleasantly spicy, but very greasy. Ironically, the kung pao chicken was supposed to be healthier. I ate the entrees and raw vegetables & noodles at home, and just managed to stomach it all. While the quantity and the price were okay, I felt deeply disappointed by it all. The greasiness of the food made me feel like I had eaten a lead brick, and I needed to drink a tall glass of water to digest all that. The raw vegetables at least promised some roughage to keep my heart from getting clogged by all the fat. I eat rather light as a rule, so this was deeply disappointing. As for better places to go nearby: China Gate is a quick takeout place right in the same shopping plaza next to the Little Caesar's ; Sun Luck Garden is west on Cedar and north on Taylor, on the right, and features freshly prepared dishes in a great atmosphere & also does takeout; and east on Cedar in La Place is Ho Wah, which has excellent dining or takeout, fast service, and is simply the best, in close competition to the other two. There is also Happy Buddha, just near Cedar & Green, and they do dine in or takeout, but it is conventional in quality: still way better than Panda Express, which tastes like they actually had a panda making it. Rule of thumb: in the Heights area, never go to a chain restaurant; always go to a local, one-off, family-owned restaurant (unless it's...
Read moreI made an online order here last week, I was running late to my daughters play me.cause of their long wait times so I didnt get to check the order immediately. Once I arrived to the house to drop the food off I noticed that the order was ALL WRONG. I literally only received 1 thing I paid for I called and notified them of their error but told them I couldn't come.back that night because I was rushing to my daughters play. The manager JOHNNY said it was completely fine and asked would i be coming to pick it up thr following day. I told him no because I will be working the play for the last day and wouldn't have the opportunity, he says that it is fine because he would write me down in the book just for me to bring my receipt. I told him although I didn't receive a receipt I did order online so I will just go on my Panda Express account and pull the order up there. Today I call in to speak with Johnny about picking up the fixed order and not only does JOHNNY have his employees screening his calls he has one put me on hold for what was 16 minutes at the time and now it is way more since finishing this review. I just want things made right in order to restore my faith in this location. If Johnny could please keep his word that would be appreciated....
Read moreIt's been a long time since i had Panda Express. Last time i had it, I was 10 years old and it was in a food court mall in California. I pass it pretty frequently so I decided to check it out. I went through the drive thru (I was feeling lazy and didn't want to get out) I ordered a small orange chicken, 1 egg roll, 1spring roll, lo mein noodles and a medium general tso chicken. My total came to about eighteen and some change I donated a dollar and kept fifty cents. I was told by the drive thru to pull up past the driveway for my order(they were going to bring it out). It was about a 8 minute wait. When i retrieved my food I made sure to check my bag before driving off which I'm glad I did because my general tso chicken wasn't in the bag I went inside and informed the lady who brought my food out she was very gracious and apologetic about my inconvenience. Once I made it home I was very disappointed to find my egg roll and spring rolls were burnt the the general tso chicken lo mein and orange chicken were ok. Overall I don't think I'll be back anytime soon though I found the customer service to be great, the food wasn't. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the...
