Oh my, where to begin...
Most people know that this place has been around forever and for it to continue being a favorite "go to" for so many patrons is testament to how great they are.
If you are a Mad Men fan, then you have GOT to get your butt to Fox's RIGHT NOW! It is dark, intimate, with a gorgeous bar and old time decor - dark wood and mirrors! I always double check the bar to see if Don Draper is having his Martini but alas, no Don - girl can dream can't she?
Now when I say dark, I really mean it. It takes a while for your eyes to adjust but once they do, you don't want to leave! Fear not because if you're afraid of the dark, that have a fully lit, larger room towards the back. I once hosted a dinner in that back room for 16 people and it was just fine.
Service has always been exceptional. Ken and Carolina are awesome and very professional.
The menu is surprisingly large considering you expect this to be more of a booze place (they even have a liquor window outside that you can buy bottles from). They have everything from steak and lobster to your simple bruschetta which comes with a delicious heap of tuna salad right in the middle.
They have everything you want to drink and a good selection of wine bottles if that 's what you're in the mood for (guess what I ordered!).
Parking lot is right across form them and FREE. They accommodate large groups and have no problems giving you separate checks. They also have live music so call them and check out who is playing when.
Oh, and one last thing - last time I was there with my friends we left and kept partying elsewhere. We realized that we had left my friend's cell phone at the restaurant. They had already closed and were cleaning up. Luckily an employee was outside and saw our desperation. He went inside and searched for the phone high and low until he found it! We thanked him profusely and do you know what his response was? Here it goes:
"No need to thank us - that just the kind of service you get here at...
Read moreNothing like a dark and old school themed place to have good food, great drinks, and excellent choice of music on a Friday afternoon/evening. Went with a friend around 5pm and it was totally empty. The server asked if we had reservations (we didn’t) before getting seated. The reason why I bring this up is because she would not stop mentioning the people that made a reservation and letting us know that our table was reserved by some other people and that they were going to arrive soon. I finally asked her what time they were coming and she said 8pm. It was 6pm. I thought that was weird. After that she never came back to our table to attend us. I had to flag her down several times after over an hour of no service and then she gave me an attitude when I asked her for more water and she said she thought our table was being attended by someone else, which was weird because she was our server from the start when there was no one there (server staff and clients), hence the two stars. Other than that, the food was great and so were the drinks. My friend and I both got the fresh yellowtail which was delicious. We chose to have a salad as our side. I also got the French onion soup which was good but a little salty which is why I gave 4 stars for food. I had a martini which was great and my friend had an old fashioned. For desert we shared the bread pudding which was pretty good. Overall, a positive experience with the exception of being rushed because of the reservation issue. I will definitely be back and perhaps make a reservation so I’m not harassed by the server about these supposed reservations which when we left at 8pm, there was no one in sight waiting for a table. Hopefully next time I’ll be able to give it 5 stars all...
Read moreI'm an old timer at Fox's. So I was curious to check out the reincarnation. It was so-so. The sauvignon blanc tasted like chablis, a bit acidic without much flavor. But DHs coke was Mexican, a plus. The thumb bits were 50-50. Some of them were tender while 2 were tough but the dip was full bodied and flavorful. DHs burger was a good, thick patty with cheese & garlic. The yellowtail was tasty as was the side salad with creamy garlic & broccoli. The salad was odd..only lettuce & croutons on top, everything else was on the bottom. But it was crisp so that was good. My broccoli didn't arrive with my meal and cold when it showed up. The chocolate mousse took quite a while to get to our table and my after dinner drink never materialized. Service was spotty, perhaps the server was stretched too thin as she was the only one working in the front section. We were directed away from a booth being told it was reserved for a party of 4. But that booth and one other were later occupied by parties of 2. The table we were seated at was tiny, barely able to contain our order. We will try again giving Fox's time to settle in and I hope to upgrade my rating - we need a place like it & I wish the new owners much success (and maybe a specialty...
