Windjammer's Beachfront Cafe — Restaurant in South Padre Island

From the kids Jr burger to the Adult burger there is no difference. Both are the same size and were tasteless.

My children had the burgers as did I. And though my son ordered without cheese they still added cheese but then scraped off what they could. The lettuce served with the burger was not fresh. My daughter actually asked me if black lettuce was okay to eat, after looking at hers I realized it was flimsy, brown and black more than the one served on my dish.(photo posted is my lettuce, which can be eaten buuuuuuut $20 for a burger and you can not even get fresh lettuce??? C'mon now...) onion rings were tasteless like the burger, the fries were over cooked and dry. My kids joked about how hard they were, and how difficult it was to chew...My kids didn't want to finish their food nor take any home as leftovers.

After adding salt mayo and some pepper. My burger was manageable. But I still couldn't finish it, I actually felt disgusted trying to finish something I didn't quite like unfortunately. The bahama mama was smaller than the cups of water served for us. And the pineapple placed on the drink was not fresh and dry. I bit into it and it didn't break off and there was no juice with rubbery texture. The drink was okay, when I was asked for another I said No.

I expected better for a $20 dollar burger. The staff was somewhat impatient that even my children noticed they wanted us to just place an order. Which would make sense if it was a full house. It was however empty with just two other tables taken a side from ours.

Utensils were clean, the center piece can get in the way of things so you'll probably want to move it or ask it to be removed. We moved it.

Due to this experience at this price my money and taste buds would appreciate another restaurant. Or just a fast food joint where the quality even surpasses this.

Also, they couldn't provide me a menu of drinks. All they said was "Well we have soft drinks and you know stuff like that." It became a guessing game and I managed to find two drinks (bahama mama) and lemonade out of 4 I asked for. I settled for that seeing how I didn't want to...

Food presentation was good. Server was receptive of our requests except for when we asked to be served complimentary bread for the first time after being seated 30 minutes later when our food was delivered to our table, he stated, "the bread will be ready when it is cooked." Granted we were the only people eating in the restaurant about an hour before the 5pm dinner menu was to be out out. Bread was good and the view was nice overlooking the pool towards the ocean. The wait staff was changing out the table decor and silverware for the dinner time meal at all tables around us while we waiting for our food and while eating. They also talked about many personal topics while working on these tables using normal voices that we could plainly heard. Also most of the lights were off in the restaurant. Luckily there was still sunlight while we were eating. All in all the food was good, service was for the most part good, but the wait staff sharing their personal issues in front of us was not something I was interested in listening to especially while trying to celebrate my relative's birthday there today and unable to fully engage in conversation with the rest of my party. I would recommend to go there closer to lunch time or after 5pm when the wait staff is done fixing and cleaning tables to get ready for the dinner rush. Unfortunately we do not plan on going...

Went for dinner. Haven’t been to this restaurant before. First noticed only 3 tables were occupied, that should of been our first clue. Menu very limited. After order was taken, took 30 minutes and by this time there was no one in the restaurant but the workers. I ordered fish & shrimp. No flavor in piece of fish, shrimp was not fresh, it was gummy and frozen. I requested fries extra crispy, they came out cold and not crispy, by the time they brought my plate back out fish and shrimp were cold, then fries came out hot. Ate a few fries left the rest. Husband and grandson ordered hamburger. Husbands burger patty was cold, they took back, came back out with same gummy breaded onion rings all stuck together. Ate 2 bites and left the rest. Our grandson is a cook by trade, he put condiments on burger, but into the burger had to pull lettuce off burger as he said the lettuce wasn’t washed. We live locally, needless to say we will never go back their. That whole meal was 64.00. We paid at front, she asked if we had fish and 2 burgers so she could find our bill in the system.
