Soooo... let me tell you about the most unhinged Krispy Kreme experience we have ever had. Possibly the most confusing and ridiculous experience ever with an establishment in all of my life.
We went to Krispy Kreme in Washington PA shortly after 7pm to grab a few dozen donuts like we always do if we are in the area... No big deal right? Wrong... We pulled up to the window and ordered the usual "5 dozen glazed cream filled donuts and 2 coffees." The lady working the window in the snarkiest tone replied "We don't have 5 dozen." Me: "Oh okay, well how many do you have? I'll take whatever you got." Her reply.. "We have 1 maybe 2... we have 2.5 dozen." I'm like "okay... give me 2.5 dozen glazed cream filled donuts and 2 cappuccino coffees."
I pulled up to the window she rang me out and gave me a box of 6 donuts. I sat there for a second and she handed me a box of 12 donuts and slammed the window shut. She turned her back and started talking to her coworkers. I noticed the donuts she handed me where chocolate covered cream donuts. 𤢠No big deal, thinking she gave me someone else's ordered. After setting there a while she finally opened the window back up and I told her that I think we had someone else's order. We only got 1.5 dozen donuts and it wasn't the glazed cream filled and that we didn't get our coffees yet. She literally went completely unhinged... đŹ Started saying over and over "That's all we have." "Do you want a refund." "That's all we have." I kept trying to explain I didn't want a refund I just wanted the donuts I ordered and my 2 coffees. She still kept proceeding to yell "That's all we have." She still was not processing that she only gave us 1.5 donuts, we were still 1 dozen short and still didn't get our coffees yet. She asked again if we wanted a refund. I told her yes we would just keep the 1.5 dozen chocolate ones she handed us and to just refund us for the coffees and the other dozen we paid for if they weren't able to fulfill the whole order. She slams the window closed again and starts screaming something to her coworkers. She opened it back up and apologized saying that she was distracted and that they were getting our other donuts and it was her mistake... again at this point thinking no big deal, whatever but still so confused on the attitude and the whole situation... a few minutes later she opens the window back up and hands us yet ANOTHER box of 12 chocolate covered cream filled donuts. đ¤Śââď¸ I stated again that we ordered "Glazed Cream Filled."... she starts yelling I'm getting your coffees now and slams the window shut again... at this point I'm just sitting in total confusion and disbelief... She opens the window back up and gives us our 2 coffees this time bringing another mouthy girl over to the window who starts yelling along with her... "We don't have glazed cream filled donuts anymore... they were discontinued last week." At this point I'm confused but getting irritated now also... I asked why they didn't tell me at the window that they no longer have the donuts I ordered and just charged me $58 for random donuts that I didn't even order.... I stated we would have just chose something else. She starts ranting that the glazed cream filled donuts were taking off the website... I have no idea what the ranting was about... I told her I didn't check the website, I ordered at the window. She went biligerent screaming something about "new people get what they get. If you don't like it take it up with the manager"... and slammed the window again!
The entire 2 hour drive back home to WV we sat discussing our bizarre Krispy Kreme experience and questioning what the heck "new people get what they get" was all about and questioning the entire experience. I'm still completely blown away...
Soooooo .... apparently Glazed Cream Filled Donuts is no longer a thing? We had no idea but won't be going back as that was literally the only reason we ever stop there and the workers at the Washington PA store are...

Pure sugar overload and worth every calorie. Yum! Lots of doughnuts in the display cases. Good service, polite, she even wished me a Happy Birthday.
Updated May 26, 2019: Seriously? If your MAIN advertising campaign is that of the Summer Doughnut collection, they should always be hot off the press, so to speak. But to completely run out of them is ridiculous, especially when given the excuse âWeâve been busyâ. Make more! Always be making more. Half of your display cases should be filled with all three of these Summer doughnuts in constant supply. And thereâs a difference between an excuse and a reason. Tired of hearing excuses from this store. From three different staff today, including the manager on duty. What they did have on hand I can get from my local Walmart in West Virginia. By time I left they were putting out trays of the Key Lime doughnut. Too little too late. Even the guy standing next to me in line said he was disappointed. He had really wanted to Strawberry doughnut. This place could be run better by a class of 5th Graders.
Updated April 14, 2019: The General Manager seemed every bit of annoyed that he had to come up front to ring up the 10% MILITARY discount on my $45 order of the Spring / Easter specialty doughnuts, to which I had ordered four dozen in advance and picked up on the way back to West Virginia from seeing a show in Pittsburgh. The entire front of the store crew just seemed meh, standoffish, and barely polite. It wasnât that the place was swamped with customers at 3:30pm. Not sure why they didnât have better, friendlier customer service today. As the General Manager rung me out and handed me the change, it was I who had to say âIt was a pleasure doing business with youâ, not him offering any thanks for my being there. I love their doughnuts, but maybe itâs time quit this place.
Review from March 15, 2019: Tasty GREEN doughnuts for St. Patrickâs Day, my second visit here in one week while traveling back and forth between WV and Pittsburgh. Canât ever have...
Read moreKrispy Kreme doughnuts are by far the best on the market. Unfortunately, in this area, the Washington PA location is the only nearby location there is due to poor planning by the corporation that resulted in many locations being closed down. The doughnuts speak for themselves as far as quality goes. The staff and the upkeep of the building, however, do not meet Krispy Kreme standards or the standards a person would expect from a food service business. The building is neglected and most likely hasnt been inspected by anyone from corporate in many years. The hot signs on the building have burnt out sections of the lights, and the one that is meant to be seen from the highway doesn't work at all. In the last 2 visits, we were lucky to find the hot lights on and were surprised that even though its procedure to offer a hot doughnut to every guest, many guests were not offered a hot doughnut and we actually had to ask for them. During our last visit, the glazer turned off, and an entire run of Doughnuts did not get glazed. We asked what would happen to them and were told that they would simply fall into the garbage. We asked if we could buy some and were simply told "no." We even tried to explain how wastful it is to throw them in the trash, especially when there was an offer to buy some of them. We own a restaurant, and we could very easily turn them into specialty desserts. In a modern society where everyone is preaching about reducing waste and lowering carbon footprints, i find it interesting that a company would rather waste over 1k pieces of their products instead of selling them even at a reduced rate. Isn't some money better than nothing? Especially in a time where $0.10 worth of fried dough literally is being sold for 15 times the cost, an unheard of markup in the restaurant industry. Then again, i guess thats how they can shrug off that...
