DeSoto Snow and Creamery — Restaurant in Southaven

I wish I had heard about this place earlier in the summer because it is delightful! I HIGHLY recommend to anyone in the area. It is small and quaint with friendly staff. The guy who served us was helpful, courteous, and offered samples of any of the flavors. There were plenty of choices from sundaes to stuffed snowballs, to snowcones. First of all let me say, why have I never heard of a stuffed snowball? And second, may I just tell you that if that is you right now, I say that you HAVE to try one!! You won’t be sorry.

They have the shaved, soft fluffy ice for their snowcones. They don’t have the chunky, full of chips ice like some places. This is the good stuff! Secondly, they don’t skimp on the ice or the flavor. My oldest daughter got a flavored snowcone, my youngest daughter got a double scoop ice cream cone and it was so rich and creamy. I got the “I do” stuffed snowball which consists of snow cone, ice cream, shaved ice and then cream. It was the most divine dessert that I’ve had in a while. I have salivated in remembrance several times since consuming this delicacy. I got the birthday cake ice cream to go in the middle with the almond and cream snowcone and it was a match made in heaven. They have a little area that is adorable for a selfie station or photo op. Just absolutely unbelievably exquisite customer care. I was driving up from Alabama to visit my brother, who lives in South Haven. We were celebrating Mardi Gras and I just didn’t even think about having to order a king cake a day ahead! Well we called them on my drive up and they said they would make me one right then!!!! They gave me numerous choices and started making it right after we got off the phone. It was ready when I arrived! I’ve been back again when visiting my brother and their ice cream is amazingly delicious too!

And I have to say I spend Mardi Gras in New Orleans every year, and Desoto’s king cakes give Nola’s king cakes a run for their money!!!!! It was just so yummy,...

Very happy find after leaving the wasteland that was the fair. The girl behind the counter was a delight. The owners were there working, getting stuck in on kitchen detail. I had the cookies and milk & CC cookie dough. The ice cream is fantastic. My husband went with a tigers blood shave ice. He also grabbed a chess square for snacking on later. The shave ice, according to him, was a childhood memory brought back to life. As for the chess square, he wants to know how they got his grandmother's recipe. I'd say 2 big thumbs up from us.
