Mochiatsu — Restaurant in Southaven

My friend wrote a review but I’ll write one as well for my point of view.

I decided on this place because it’s new and had really good reviews, and we love trying new boba places almost every week.

When I was looking at the menu, I asked the female cashier with the dyed red hair about the corn dogs and what kind of meat was in them, she told me beef. I ordered a mozzarella corn dog, and it was just cheese and no beef. I went up and asked if I could get beef instead and said that I misunderstood what I ordered, and she was very rude and iffy about it acting like it was a big deal to make that instead. It was a simple misunderstanding on my part and her attitude towards me was unprofessional.

After I finished eating, I asked to have my donut warmed up. She started telling me “I don’t recommend warming it up”, but the owner was there and said that he’s warmed it up for 10 seconds and it should be fine. So I got it warmed up and it was delicious, I don’t know why she had to make a big deal of it.

I’m not sure if it was because I ordered it 50% sweet, but the boba was a bit milky and not as flavorful as I was hoping.

As my friend and I were getting ready to leave, the cashier was giving us weird looks and made us very uncomfortable. She seemed to be annoyed by us for some reason.

I’ve worked in various kinds of customer service for 12 years, I can distinguish good customer service from bad and can think of what I would do in certain situations. I also try to be extra nice to customer service workers because I know what it’s like to have customers be rude to you. Her customer service was very unprofessional and made me extremely uncomfortable.

The male workers were nice, and the owner was nice and friendly as well. Just disappointed in this experience with that cashier and hope she can get more training to know how to act friendly...

Great food, great atmosphere! Southaven needs more places like this! Food is wonderful and service is always top notch! These are not the corn dogs your mom gave you out of the dirty toaster oven! Biting into these and experiencing the burst of flavor and mozzarella will make every other corn dog less than! Ever had a corn dog with Cheetos or cornflake crust? No? Then you’ve not lived a complete existence. And the donuts? - these were so great they cured my depression, saved my marriage, and restored my faith in humanity. Not overly sweet like the mass produced boxed donuts that taste like corrugated cardboard and technology. These are made fresh right here! And the drinks? chef’s kiss. My previously uncultured mind didn’t not find the idea of milk tea (2 things I should probably drink more of) very appealing. But let me tell ya - this stuff is the bomb (or whatever the kids say to describe something very good)! And lastly - location, location, and …I forget the third one.. located close to Silo Square and beside a pottery making shop… a freakin’ pottery making shop!!! Fellas - a word of advice - take your girl on a date.. a REAL date!! My wife and I went by this place after visiting the bird store next door. Come to find out it was two weeks before their grand opening but they must have been having a little private welcoming party because it was filled up when we first walked by! After we walked in and noticed it wasn't completely finished I realized this was the case. However, they welcomed us explaining it would be a couple weeks before the big day and proceeded to give us a taste of what's to come and all without charge! It was amazing and though it wasn't something I typically crave when hungry it now is! We had the cheesesteak covered in potato's with a mango green tea and it was all phenomenal! The sauce (spicy) he gave us was out of this world! They were so welcoming we felt right at home and just knew it was meant to be! I promised a good review and got busy so it's a little late but it looks like they didn't really need my help considering I'll be No. 27/27⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐reviews!! They deserve it and finding business owners with such passion and a love for their customer is a rare jewel. I pray they continue to impress and create new cravings!
