So me and my fiance just moved to the area. We had just finished running some errands and we wanted to check out a new spot in the area. So we decided to randomly just start driving down Queen Street to see what was available. We come across JD's pizzeria bar and grill. My fiance thought it was a nice little spot so she was like, hey let's check it out. So we go insideand theres not many people so we sit down at the bar and order ourselves a drink. Bartender is great she's on top of everything not making us wait for anything and the food came out very quick. The experience at the beginning was great until it's about time to leave. So the waitress/bartender Is grabbing a take-home box for my fiance's food when all of a sudden a little old lady probably in her '80s or '90s comes walking up to the bar and squeezes between me and the gentleman that's sitting next to me. Next thing I know she starts stroking my hair without saying a single word or even introducing herself. This infuriates my fiance. She tells the woman to leave me alone and to keep walking and then she asks the bartender who that woman was. To my disbelief the bartender replies oh that's the owner. So I looked the bartender in the face I said does she seriously walk around just touching people inappropriately? All the bartender could do is shake her head and apologize over and over again. Then to add icing to the cake I get slapped with $104 bill after being assaulted by the owner. This is not acceptable nor is it professional behavior. I either want my money back or at this point I'm ready to...
Read moreThis restaurant has excellent pizza! I give it a 9.2 out of 10 , unfortunately the consistency of the pizzas are not always the same, but regardless you can always expect an excellent pie. The dinner rolls that come entrees usually served with the salad are scrumptious; they heat them up so they're nice and a little bit crispy on the outside and the inside is soft and moist. And most of the time the butter it's not rock hard like most restaurants have it. Rather it's soft and spreadable. I definitely urge you to try this restaurant by yourself or bring a crowd of friend and family, if you haven't in the past. It's right on Route 10 if you blink you may miss it because there's no driveway or parking lot in the front turn down the street like you're going to Home Depot, and the parking lot is conveniently located in the rear of the building. One of the great things about this restaurant is that they serve food until 1 in the morning on weekdays and 2 in the morning on the weekends... There's no other place around that you can get better than decent food whatever time you have a craving for a good home cooked meal. I know firsthand that everything is made fresh. The stakes are so tender and juicy and cooked perfectly the majority of the time. All of the fish entrees I've tried are truly amazing, and the sauce that accompanies the chicken francais is one of the best around. Again if you haven't tried this Hidden Gem, it's a must-try! Five stars...
Read moreWe were really hoping for a better experience, we were meeting old friends from Maine...bad mistake.
I go the ziti and meatballs, the meatballs were so dry, burned and just terrible, inedible. The pasta and the sauce were fine.
My wife got a calzone and she said it was good.
One of our friends got spaghetti with meat sauce, she was a tiny little 80 year old women a she receives like 2 lbs. of spaghetti with a jar size of sauce. She said it tasted funny to her. You would think the waitress would recognize the petite size and maybe suggest a child's size portion or maybe just a warning.
Our other friend got 2 appetizers, 1 fried zucchini Sticks and french fries with cheese and bacon. I would say this was the most disappointing, there was like 2 pieces of cheese about the size of 2 quarters and maybe a half a piece of bacon. The Zucchini sticks soup with skin.
My daughter got a side of fries she said they were good.
The waitress was terrible. We did not see our drinks (soda) for 20 minutes. Finally gave us those and the another half hour to take our food order. 30-40 minutes later half our food came out and then 20 minutes later the rest came out. We never saw her again, no...how was your food...do you need a refill...nothing. There was only our table of 5 and one other table of 4! TWO TABLES!!!!
I was so embarrassed because I recommended this place. it was like throwing $127. out the window! We will never make this...
