Overall, friendly staff and good food, just unfortunate timing and maybe poor organization.
We went yesterday and ordered two hot sandwiches. Cashier said 10-15 minute wait for them, no problem. We sat down and waited for our food, snacking on a loaf of bread we bought along with our sandwiches. 10 minutes turned into 20, which turned into 30, upon which I stood up and asked if our sandwiches would be out soon. The employee kindly reiterated that the sandwiches had a 10-15 minute wait, even though we had been there 30. She seemed not to realize how long we had been there. All good, just wished there had been more communication. We waited another 15 minutes before we had our sandwiches. The employee apologized because they were training new employees. In all honesty I'm sure it was a true mishap; employees there were really friendly and seem to run a good show, we were just frustrated because this could have easily been prevented. There were about 6-7 employees behind the counter, maybe 1 or 2 making sandwiches. Kitchen staff seemed to have no sense of urgency, and nobody seemed to be paying attention to the tickets. Everyone was moving really slowly.
If we had known we would wait 45 minutes for two sandwiches, we would have just gone elsewhere and saved our money. We were late to our plans afterwards and it was really frustrating. Definitely willing to give it a second chance though because it seemed like an honest mistake. Just wish it had been handled better...
Read moreI ordered a Cobb salad , with the meat heated. I am pregnant and my doctor told me to thoroughly cook all meat and if going to a restaurant, have them heat up any previously cooked meats because listeria contamination can cause miscarriage. When I got my salad and the meat was not heated I asked if they could heat the meat or make a new salad with heated meat. The owner came out and talked to me, she told me that she could not stop her sandwich line long enough to heat up meat, that it would back everything up and she didn't have time. She offered to make a different salad without meat, but I, like most people like chicken on my salad. I told her what my doctor had said and her response was that she had six children without a problem. She went on to say that she had been an OB nurse and that she would really like to see the research on what my doctor had told me. I was pretty Blown Away so I got my refund and left. It's not her business to tell me how I want my food, I'm a customer. I've never had a restaurant employee much less owner refused to remake the food that I had ordered. There will be many people who come through that restaurant with the different dietary needs and from different religious backgrounds who needs food prepared a little differently. It's sad because I was really looking forward to trying this...
Read moreGreat Harvest offers some of the best breads, cookies, plenty of yummy breakfast foods and sandwiches. We've been going to the Southlake location since they opened and LOVE it. Recently, they've been putting together a few special gift baskets of goodies - which I've taken advantage of ... I ordered a "Thank You" basket that was hand delivered, by the owner of the store, to a medical office in Dallas!
Monday, I went by Great Harvest to put together another goody, gift basket for a family friend that recently suffered a tragic loss. I was surprised first of all when the customer before me "paid it forward" and paid for my entire order!! This stranger truly blessed me beyond what I can express and blessed the grieving family as well. As I continued to express my surprise and thankfulness for this gracious deed, the owner of the store started adding more yummy foods into the basket! One of the employees then put it all in a special tray and made it look extra special - much better than I ever could. (I'm attaching a photo below). I'd give them more than 5 stars, if I could - what a special group of "givers" at Great Harvest!! Thank you for your graciousness, along with the great food you...
