Our experience was all that we expected and more. Food was amazing, even better than I remember from my last experience at a different Capital Grille. Service was excellent. Ambiance was as it should be for a nice, high quality restaurant. I was so impressed with our experience that I actually logged into google to write a review, which I have never done.
I don’t understand how someone could give this restaurant a one star review. If the person who wrote the one star review is who I think she is, that party was sitting directly across from us tonight. I distinctly recall wondering how they were able to dine here since the teenager/young adult in that party was wearing RIPPED jean shorts (that were too short in my opinion). Anyone who’s ever eaten at a nice restaurant knows you shouldn’t wear ripped anything, let alone ripped jean shorts to a nice establishment like this. It’s impressive that the manager still allowed them to dine at the restaurant and in the main dining area. To put the manager in the position to have to point out who in your party is obviously breaking dress code, and then only to complain about your experience after they graciously accommodated you even though they would not have been faulted if they turned you away… now that is just a low-class move.
Moral of the story: if you cannot dress appropriately for a nice restaurant like this, don’t go here. Or at least, don’t be surprised or offended if they turn you away.
However, if you do enjoy amazing food, excellent service, a classy setting and ambiance with pleasant jazz standards for background music, AND you are willing to dress accordingly, this is one of the best restaurants in Southlake. On par with Truluck’s and Perry’s, minus happy hour.
Best appetizer was the cherrywood smoked bacon, hands-down!
Flourless chocolate cake is melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
We had fish and steak for dinner, and all dinner dishes were just perfect. I don’t think you can...
Read moreCapital Grill in multiple locations have been great for years. Houston, Jacksonville, Fort Worth, Plano however very disappointed in Southlake. From the minute we walked just to the bar the attention was quite dismissive. Not much room to sit, no problem, I understand, Hower after asking to sit a lower top bar area, no contact for at least 10 minutes. A couple moved from the high level bar and I simply ask to move, oh sure. Really exciting. After making a simple neat bourbon, chandlers attention turned to someone who just sat down, laughing and joking while the drink sat there. Finally had to order from the other bar tender because he was incoherent while we sat there. Finally an appetizer, I ordered tuna tartare… then I ask for soy sauce…” I doubt we have that he said” instead of checking he spent time laughing and joking, is this for real, I finally had to ask the other bartending if she could get me some soy sauce..( every restaurant in America has it ) it finally arrived. Now the TV … we just happen to sit down during a nation news event and in what could have been a life altering incident… lady bar tender ask if I was watch and I said yes… she continues to change as she scoffs about the manager wants this changed now…. Needless to say, my appetite changed. The Rib-eye tomahawk was awesome, the blackberry sidecar was quite tasty, the dram michters was great. The delivery sucked … hope fully it will be more pleasant the next...
Read moreWe were super excited when we heard this restaurant was opening in SL as the Fort Worth and Dallas Location are amazing. Unfortunately, our experience was beyond disappointing. Even though we had a reservation, they wanted to sit (hide) us in a high top near the bar but due to a back surgery I can’t do that type of seating so we were approached by the manager who rudely expressed that they had a dress code so we couldn’t be in the main area. I was baffled looking at my husband who was in kakis and shirt, I was wearing a black dress and high heals and my daughter who had shorts and a nice top so had to ask who was infringing the dress code and he just stared at my 15 year old. He then (again extremely rude) said that only for this time we could sit in the main dining room😳 and that should have been my cue to leave but unfortunately didn’t! The service was great but the food OMG! Olive Garden quality with a Perry’s steakhouse price. Their Filet Mignon was horrible and their truffle fries were more of a boiled potato than fried 🤢 Their carpet is full of crumbs and food everywhere (to be honest they chose a carpet for this location which shows everything), booths are ugly and just the entire atmosphere is off. Guess we will continue to drive from SL to the Ft Worth or Dallas location. I completely respect dress code in restaurants but the way that this manager approached the situation was...
