I arrived on a regular workday Monday by myself and was immediately led to an available table with no wait, even though there did seem to be a healthy crowd of folks also choosing this location for lunch. I ordered chicken souvlaki, Greek salad (with no olives and the house dressing), Greek potatoes, pita bread, tzatziki sauce and a sweet tea. The service was very prompt.
The sweet tea was great -- an absolute requirement for this southern boy. :) And my salad arrived quickly and was delicious. I really enjoyed the ample amount of cheese and the full flavored house dressing. It did not take me long to make the salad disappear completely.
And my main dish arrived right on cue shortly after I finished my salad. The chicken souvlaki was three good sized chicken breast strips on a single wooden skewer sitting atop the pita bread. They were cooked beautifully, with just enough of a glazed and herb rubbed look on the outside and still juicy enough to fall apart easily off the stick as I ran my fork through them -- tender and tasty. The Greek potatoes sat in their own bowl, keeping the soft yet firm potatoes and their delicious Greek juices from encroaching upon the pita bread on the plate itself (appreciated). The pita bread was fresh and warm, and while it had some tasty spots where the grill of the souvlaki had encroached upon the bread, it was a welcome touch of flavor and not anything that would have left the bread damp or soggy (also appreciated). And the tzatzikki sauce was cold and fresh, a wonderful complementary contrast to the acidic flavors of the potatoes and salad and the string herbs from the souvlaki.
The server kept my sweet tea full, which can sometimes be a chore in other places because I drink tea very quickly (almost like I'm breathing it in order to stay alive). And she provided my bill promptly so that I was paid and back out the door in almost exactly 30 minutes. That's great for us working folks who need to get back to our jobs quickly.
I definitely recommend giving them a try. I'll definitely be back again...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered take out.. I have a granddaughters birthday pizza ordered because her dad, my son recommended you after he ordered a pizza with white sauce, Alfredo sauce so my birthday girl wanted white sauce on the pizza I was building to order referred to as my special pizza.. i drove across town to get it after pulling over excited on the highway to order this special birthday pizza & put on gps after the order how to get there.. after arriving, I went in to pick up 2 pizzas I ordered.. the special one was first & foremost confirmed white sauce after asking if they do white sauce, it was a yes so I proved to build my own pizza.. white sauce, mozzarella cheese, ground beef, sausage, onions, mushrooms, jalapeƱo peppers (I wish I had left those off). I was so excited for that one & I also ordered a pepperoni, normal.. after I got home, it had red sauce, tomato based.. there was a big sign after I walked in, first question, up hood white sauce right & repeated it, when I said no, it was aww man.. it was getting late after 10 something so I called letting them know Abbie the order, Brandi was so rude to me, unreal.. I couldnāt believe my first order from there turned out like this, she kept saying the policy is if the pizza had been eaten, you canāt get another but at that hour & a party & people starving saying we have to eat something & Brandi kept just saying the rule is & gosh I was feeling some kind of way.. she was so reluctant to take my # to have her boss call me that it took 15 minutes no joke to get her to take my # & I never heard back from anyone.. Iām so so disappointed that Apollo pizza did this to me or allowed an employee to do this to me.. it hurts.. I just moved here June off 2023 & still learning the best places to eat.. Iām just disappointed badly in what happened here.. I donāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I have been going to Apollos for years even when they was on reidville rd. The food is no where near what it used to be but I could look over that because this place was special to me. What I can't look over is being belittled and called names. My server tonight did a very well job explaining that wings took about 20 min so it might not be the best appetizer. We explained we wanted the wings as a appetizer. So when our food and wings came altogether of course I said something because I didn't want my wings and pasta at the same time. I did not yell or belittle him nor was I rude about it I made I comment that i no longer needed the wings because i will not eat them at the same time as my pasta.I made that very clear when we ordered. So my server tonight thinks it's appropriate to go to the server station and complain and talk crap about us because he can't do his job. Honestly I've been a server for several years I was not happy it all came out together but I would get over it and would have been fine if he was not so unprofessional and talked crap loud enough for us to hear when we was sitting right next to the server station door. The brain cells on that one have to be low. When my wife went to the front to let them know we could hear everything he is saying. He did not come back to our table he sent the other servers they did apologies that we heard him, but as a seasoned server myself I am completely dumbfounded that a manager or owner did not atleast come talk to us and apologize for their servers...
