Do not recommend** Donāt go there if you donāt have more then 30 minutes to wait for your order. Upon every occasion I have been to blackbird, they have had only one staff member working and are extremely slow & being that this happens every time, I think it warrants a review. On todayās particular occasion, I placed an order as the only customer in the shop. Following my order(an aƧaĆ bowl, which was quite mediocre), 3 groups of people entered after me and the worker proceeded to take their orders as well, not a big deal. 15 minutes had gone by, the man working had served every person after me their drinks and began preparing their food. I reminded the worker I was still waiting for my order and had an appointment to be at in 10 minutes (25 minute had gone by at this point). He finally began preparing my order only to stop halfway through to take another order. Safe to say it took close to 40 minutes to get my order and after two times speaking with the worker, I was late for an appointment. There are many other local coffee shops with equally priced, better quality service,...
Read moreWill stop for açaà bowls. Whenever i see one on a menu i will get it. The Bright Eyes açaà bowl at Blackbird Espresso is a game changer. Combining blueberries and lemon curd in a bowl?! Nom nom nom. They are my two favorite flavors! The bowl was $10 but amply sized. (I got mine to-go but we ended up staying due to a hail storm.) my husband got a pastie he loved and my kids got brownies. The lattes were also delicious. The menu was lengthy, with plenty of options.
Need to stay awhile? There was plenty of seating, both indoor and out. The bathroom was clean. Everyone was friendly. Great spot. Iām not likely to ever be back in Spearfish, but I will be thinking about the aƧaĆ bowl for years to come.
Edited to add: we went back a second time. The buttercup açaà bowl is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow this is a hard one. My Cuppicino was ordered expresso and foam only was delivered as a latte? Why can't this generation learn to froth milk and only Starbuck's, the McDonalds of coffee, could corrupt this Italian drink by saying "dry". No where in Italy do they use "dry" so for a month a year I just order it by name no instructions and its perfect! She made it a second time and it was apparent she would never get it right so I just took it for the $13 I spent with tip! However, the Almond Crossiant was a Starburst of heaven, the best I've ever had and if you check my waistline you'll see that is quite a statement! So coffee very very disappointing but wow the Crossiant was out...
