Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Speedway

Went on 11/12/22 with my family (Dad, Stepmom, and Sister) at about 7:00 pm.

We get to our table relatively quickly and everything was fine.

We order drinks Me: Ordered a Mountain Dew Dark Berry Blast. It tasted watered down and barely flavored with little carbonation. I got a refill and then the same result. I went to a different Applebee's in Fort Wayne, IN, and there it tasted like actual Mountain Dew. Stepmom: Ordered a Blue Moon Harvest in a tall glass. To her account, It was served in a badly scratched Coors Light glass and was barely cold. It barely had any head on it when it was served so I know it wasn't poured right. It was not garnished with an orange wedge-like it is supposed to be. Dad and Sister's drinks were fine.

My Stepmom then orders a spinach and artichoke dip. It was not warm at all, unlike what it was supposed to be. The tortilla chips that came with it were hard as a crouton, were not flavorful at all, and were probably expired.

We get our food a little bit later than expected, but to be fair the restaurant was at least 80% capacity. Me: Ordered a neighborhood double burger and fries, the same thing I ordered last week at a different Applebee's. It wasn't bad, but it tasted reheated. Sister: Orders a half rack of ribs and they tasted near-burnt and had very little meat in proportion to the bone. The broccoli that came with it was cold, and they forgot her cole slaw. She then got her cole slaw, not on a plate or bowl, but in a plastic dipping cup. Stepmom: Ordered wings and celery. That was the one thing that turned out completely fine. Dad: Ordered a chicken wrap that was supposed to come with sauce, but did not, so he took the ranch from my stepmom's wings and dressed it himself.

In the end, my Dad orders a refill, and never received it. The server was generally unaware that anything was wrong with her service or the food. My Dad, being a nice guy, still tipped 5%, which I still think was undeserved.

The atmosphere was still the usual good for Applebee's and although this family with two toddlers next to us was annoying, the servers and the parents kept them relatively under control. The manager (who I hope is reading this) seemed like a nice guy when I saw him talking to other customers and the staff was good about cleaning tables and checking on customers.

Applebee's of Speedway needs to work on their food, and it is safe to say that my family and I are not...

My best friend & I had went in last night & were told that there weren't any Non-alcoholic beverages without any orange juice, only Lemonade, or Pepsi.

Then we were told that there weren't any Non-alcoholic beverages at all at Applebee's, when the menu had at least one, or two.

My best friend were told that there were out of coleslaw & that my best friend couldn't substitute her side for anything else, even though the restaurant were out!

We get that she would've had to pay for it if she just didn't want coleslaw, Yet that wasn't the case.

This Applebee's actually made my best friend pay for what was supposed to be Her substitution.

My best friend had stated that her fries could be given to me in which the meal that my best friend was actually paying for & the waiter response,

Her meal already comes with fries, Yet we know that.

My best friend is an older lady who doesn't really eat potatoes & wanted to give me what you all were bringing out, since you all wouldn't allow her to substitute anything.

I don't know if the waitress called herself trying to check me, because I had asked another lady about the substitution for just the coleslaw,

Yet the waitress had literally came back, I guess trying to put her foot down, or trying to check me by stating who & what I had asked about, in which I knew exactly what I had asked & whom I had asked the question to.

My exact words after, to the waitress were:

Are you the manager?

The waitress responded:

No! Expeditiously

My best friend & I were thinking, okay so what was the reasoning of you coming all the way back from the bar to say something that we asked someone else about if you're not the manager.

So, when my best friend's & I food had come out , our chicken was between lukewarm & cold.

Also no, no one called each other out of their name, or anything like that.

Yes, The waitress were even still left A tip.

Not the tip that it could've been if we had received much better customer service.

I/We don't know if the waitress that we had last night just had A lot going on, or something on her mind, Yet she really didn't look well.

Our server was the problem. We had kaitlin (? Spelling) and she was horrible. Her pupils were so small you could tell she was obviously strung out on kind of pills. She forgot everything. Always I’m sorry. She couldn’t even take the menus from the table, I had to ask her so there was room on the table! We were not the only ones with a horrible experience. The people behind us also had a bad experience bc we were talking about it with them! He asked specifically for a wing refill and she argued with him for 5 minutes that he didn’t ask for them but we heard him ask her for them! She didn’t even remember the wing sauce he wanted! She wanted to argue with me because I said we wouldn’t come back to this Applebees ever. This girls actually thinks arguing with customers will get her somewhere. My husband and sons drinks sat at the bar for over 10 minutes melting while she had disappeared! If he hadn’t got them they would’ve had to remake the drinks. One manager had To bring out food to 2 of her tables while she was missing. Another manager tried to help out after all was said and done. We didn’t want a discount we just wanted to make him aware of the situation. That girl should be fired for the way she speaks to customers. It’s disgusting. I would recommend if you do go here you ask for jasmine (?) she’s a pregnant lady and was working her behind off. She took out 3 tables worth of food while our waitress was MIA. Please drive 30 minutes to the Applebees at greenwood park mall. We are regretting not going there tonight. Also, it’s Saturday at 8pm. Don’t tell me your so busy at 8 pm you can’t keep up. Lay down the drugs lady. You were horrible the Applebees in greenwood has been twice as busy this late and stood their ground. She tried to lie and say she was helping other people. Lol.
