Ok so we came out for my Nephew's birthday party. I was somewhat nervous about the whole situation, but the kids have been locked up for months. I've been there only entertainment, for their own health and well being of course... You know as a mother you don't know what to expect, I know a year ago possibly longer, it was a breeding ground for germs. There were always so many children running around licking their fingers because there eating & playing at the same time basically. When we walked in there was 5 other children playing. So I felt confident in the situation, because I could keep a good eye on how my 2 & 6 year old. Along with watching how my little ones interacted with the other children. As well as being able to keep their hands clean and free from touching their face. I was extremely surprised when I saw that they had taken out the salabar along with the tunnels! Yet at the same time I was happy because, I took note that chucky E cheese was taking the possibility of my loved ones getting sick, quite seriously. I am not gonna lie I was overjoyed my children needed this today. The fact that all of us have become a little socially awkward, I like to observe how they react to certain situations because there so young. COVID-19 took a lot from us, physically and emotionally. I give chucky cheese 5 stars because they were definitely about their business. I saw employees frequently wiping games down and To my surprise they still had a salad bar but they deliver it to the table in a closed Styrofoam box. They still have the things that their famous for pizza, Soda, candy, wings etc... So honestly I was quite surprised and a bit overjoyed when I saw it was a bit of a ghost town. This was a "test drive," like I said earlier in my review I didn't know what to expect. I work frontline and I'm still learning myself how to socialise properly and in a healthy manner again, through masking of course. My Babes got to exert themselves, in a healthy way. I got to observe how they played, as well as keep them clean. Good job Chucky E Cheese and I applaud the staff today because they...
Read moreChuck E Cheese has always been our go to place for our children to run and get their pent up energy out. But on our most recent visit we experienced the new coin process......as in there are no more coins! They now put everything on a card and you have the option of purchasing a card lanyard (which, why wouldn't you?!) so now my two 5-year-olds and 8-year-old look as though they belong to the casino club rewards program. But more than that, we can't regulate what our children spend their coins on. And within 30 minutes our youngest have blown through 50 coins, only made that many in tickets and are left upset because they are still too young to understand this new concept. As parents, we aren't able to enjoy our time here with them because we either get our own card or borrow theirs and they blow through it faster. I'm really disappointed that Chuck E Cheese has transitioned to this point system process. And I can't say my children are any more excited than I am. We are definitely not getting our money's worth. We spent $80 on "points" (tokens) which earned us 200 points to split 3 ways and after 30 minutes the money was gone and we had 75 tickets combined. We used to go to Chuck E Cheese as our main go-to on a rainy day, but we've made the decision as a family to find a new...
Read moreThis is a smaller location than the ones I am used to. So, I take that into effect.
Games: due to size choices were limited. Only 1 racing game, which had 1 screen down. Other malfunctions, about a total of 7, happened while I was there; a bit excessive for the location size.
Tokens: losing them took the nostalgia away. Also, ability to start playing is slower. You can just pop $20 into the token changer and start the fun. There was no instructions on how to get credits... after about 10 mins I had to ask a staff member. The first worker I asked seemed clueless how to do it. Then another did walk me through.
Food: Granted, it was a Saturday when I visited but from time of ordering to time it was served was a bit long. The portion size of the appetizer sampler plate that is served makes it overpriced.
It seems as though the algorithms of the games have been changed to pay out less.
Toys R Us is done... Star Wars changed their demograpic to a younger audience & Chuck seems soon to fade away. Sometimes adults want to feel like a kid again.
The only reason I gave two stars is because my boys had fun. We will be back to use up their credits and redeem their tickets they've saved for a couple years. Then it will be history...
