The Perk — Restaurant in Spokane Valley

I really wanted to love this place. I’ve been a regular customer at Perk for quite a while now, and when the drinks are made right, they’re excellent — especially the peanut butter and chocolate blended drink, which is my go-to.

But the problem is consistency, or rather, the lack of it. One barista in particular, (Gracie) never seems to make the drink correctly — the flavor’s off, the texture is wrong, and it’s clearly not the same quality I get from other staff. I’ve tried to politely bring this up, but instead of addressing the issue, I feel like I’ve been treated as the problem for simply speaking up. That’s not how customer service should work.

When I’m paying good money for something I enjoy, I shouldn’t have to gamble on who’s making it or brace myself for pushback when I ask for it to be done right. I’m not looking to cause drama — I just want the drink I’ve always ordered to be made the way it’s supposed to be.

Until the consistency improves — and the management shows they care more about getting it right than defending poor service — I won’t be going out of my way...

Few places today have a genuine staff but that’s not the case with this establishment. When receiving my drink today 3/11/25 I had the opportunity to speak with the owner he shared with me a brief story about his wife. His gentle compassion was clear and the world needs more places like perk. Places where you feel like the people helping us with things we take for granted on a daily basis have real spirit behind what they do. I can tell he loves and has a deep care for his business and I applaud that. Coffee with substance Thats all...

Great coffee, great price, but they really should consider prioritizing efficiency a little bit more. While it’s nice to have a good conversation, it’s about a 20 min wait for a 2-car line which is unreasonable. do not come here if you’re on your way to work, you will...
