Ah, Jersey Mike’s. The sandwich shop that exists in that weird limbo between “actually pretty good” and “I mean, I was hungry, so whatever.”
Let’s start with the positives: the bread is decent, not artisan level, but it won’t fall apart mid bite like some sad gas station hoagie. The meats and cheeses are freshly sliced, which is a nice touch, because nothing says “premium” like watching a guy in an apron aggressively wield a deli slicer. And “Mike’s Way” (that signature oil, vinegar, and seasoning combo) does add a solid punch of flavor, assuming you enjoy your sandwich being slightly soggy but in a strangely enjoyable way.
Now for the not so great: It’s expensive for what is, at the end of the day, a sub sandwich. Like, this is the kind of meal where you question your life choices at checkout. “Did I really just drop $15 on some bread, lettuce, and sliced meat? Am I living beyond my means? Should I start budgeting?” And while the ingredients are fresh, let’s not pretend we’re eating Michelin starred charcuterie, it’s still just cold cuts on a roll.
Overall, Jersey Mike’s is the sandwich equivalent of a B-minus student. It tries hard, gets the job done, but no one is putting it on a pedestal. Would I eat it again? Sure. Would I "crave" it? Ehh. Would I still complain about the price while eating...
Read morei placed an online pick up order at about 5:04 pm and it said it would be done by 5:18. my boyfriend then waited well over 30 minutes well watching them help everyone who came in and refused to make my already paid for online order. he said it would have been faster to just have gotten in line and order in person because he watched so many people walk in and be helped then leave. but i had already paid for my order so he was forced to just watched them refuse to make my online for 30 minutes. i’ve never seen or heard of anything more ridiculous and terrible. would have taken less than 5 minutes to step aside from the main line to make my order which at this point my boyfriend had been waiting for way longer than anyone in line in the store! this is not how you run a business at all these employees need to be retrained and how to manage in store customers and online orders and how to understand when you need to step away from the main line to make at least one...
Read moreDo not order online. Just do not. Apparently the 1 hour it said it would take to make our sandwiches was grossly incorrect. We have no idea when they were done. But we are guessing they sat for at least 30 minutes due the hot sandwich being cold. Not lukewarm but cold. The cold sandwiches were inedible due to the bread being drier and harder than the hardest baguette ever. I asked for just mayo and hold everything else. I got just dried, hard bread, meat, definitely not the extra cheese I paid for and two sad slices of bacon. Luckily I had purchased cheese buns from Costco so I remade the sandwich so I could eat it. I have never felt so cheated out of $15. I was so hopeful, yet was beyond disappointed; I am angry that I foolishly wasted my hard earned money there. I was tired and didn't feel like making my own at home, and yet here we are, and I still did. And I paid them so I could come...
