Zip's Drive In — Restaurant in Spokane Valley

I wanted to like this place, it's got great character, but there are two things that really killed my experience. First of all, a simple burger combo with some cheese sticks was $18. I could go to a very nice restaurant for that price. It was good, but not wonderful. Not worth that much. Second, I had to stop for an emergency bathroom break about an hour down the road. I was lucky that there was a truck stop nearby when it hit me, or else I don't know what I would have done. I went in yesterday after a long morning of work and I'm usually not to picky when it comes to fried food but when I ordered some shrimp and mozzarella sticks, I had a gut feeling something wasn't right when I first looked at it but I ate it anyways because I was very hungry. Fried foods are suppose to be golden brown and I'm very convinced that their frying oil was contaminated/dirty which was why my shrimp and cheesesticks were darker than usual and didn't taste right and I caught food poisoning. I have been out of the state for a couple years and the first place I wanted to eat was Zips! I had a serious craving and I was not let down! I ordered a double cheeseburger with grilled onions, which came out hot and fresh along with the Tub O Fries. My daughter ordered the Papa Joe. This is the store across from the Broadway Truckstop.
