I'm going to add the positive before any negative here. When I spoke to the manager regarding this, we were actually compensated for our meal, which I wasn't expecting. Also, I can't remember the name of our server, but he did a great job, which we also told the manager about.
Our visit was around 4:30 on a weekday, so I was surprised at how many people were actually there. Once we paid, we were the 4th group in line to be seated. The restaurant was very busy and it took the hostess awhile to find spots for everyone, but that's just how it happens sometimes.
The hot bars were well stocked. It was the salad bar and the dessert bar that were bad. I grabbed some cantaloupe from a bowl that was almost empty to go with my first plate. By the time I headed back to get dessert it was still the same bowl.
The dessert bar was pathetic. When I was in line, they had a poster showing that they have Icees now. When I went to get one, one flavor was not working and the dishes that you were supposed to use weren't available. Then I tried to get ice cream. No vanilla, only chocolate. They had a few sugar cookies and a few pieces of white cake. The bread pudding and some type of cobbler were both empty and they were slowly working on two other desserts that were to be added, but two of the ladies in the dessert area were so busy gossiping that they were barely working.
We don't go to Golden Corral very often because my husband doesn't like it very much. We usually only go with family or if I'm craving something but can't figure out what. So I can't tell you if this happens often. But the serving staff were great and helpful. If you have the same issues we did, I would recommend that you speak to your server before you let anything upset you. They definitely seem to want to keep...
Read moreTHE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever witnessed! My sweet mother passed away and because we had so many people over. We called Golden corral to see if we can book the room for up to 100 people. Due to the weather, we had to make slight changes in time which we as good citizens would, called not one time but three times to make sure that the changes are OK and we were told that everything would be fine and everything will be accommodated. When we got to the actual restaurant, we were greeted by a crazy looking manager, that clearly was power tripping.. She literally was short rude and had zero customer service skills. The assistant manager was the sweetest person and try to save the situation.. after literally following every requirement that this manager demanded, she then proceeded to tell us that we have to tip her $149 because it's part of our "package" again saying all of this with absolutely zero understanding of any customer service. She looked like she ran out of a jail cell straight into this position of a manager. She should definitely not be a manager, and that assistant manager should have her job!
The food was OK. She clearly talked about all of our party and we all felt it when we were getting the food.. I would never leave a bad review if this was just an OK situation, but this lady honestly made already a really bad day in my life even worse by having zero humility and understanding!
Golden Corral needs to hire staff that has common sense and people skills… and to charge $149 tip should be an option if you get a crap customer service and paying over a grand for all...
Read moreThis location makes every effort to provide hot, thoroughly cooked food. The staff was impressively kind despite being extremely busy. I have been to many different locations for this chain and this one stands above the rest. The variety is exceptional for both hot foods and desserts. Not so much for the salad bar. The salad bar is always quite fresh, but not much on selection. It doesn’t seem too many were interested in salad anyway so that’s probably why. The hot side does not have duplicates on both sides , it’s different items from the start all around to the wrap around. There is usually always a taco station and potato bar area, plus the grill is running either steak or prime rib, depending on the day. We went for thanksgiving and they had turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes. They covered all the holiday items and then had other things that I personally love like okra, hush puppies, large fried shrimp, catfish, hot honey cornbread made in an iron skillet… and the tables already had set salt pepper hot sauce ketchup and A-1 sauce (not watered down, an actual new bottle). So all in all , this is the place to visit for a good hot meal at a price $24 which is less than good Chinese buffet which can start at $27 and up. I also like coming here when in town for breakfast on Sat/sun mornings - it’s $14 and all the eggs, bacon, and breads one could want in the morning and sometimes...
