So i wanted to update this review. My sister gave me a gift card for Christmas. My wife was out of town so i decided to try it again.
We did call ahead seating and were sat about 10 min after we got there. We were lucky to sit in nate's section. Dude took really awesome care of us. When our order took a long time, he aplogized and told me he informed his manager. I told nate about the story below and then told him he was doing an awesome job because he was. He checked in on us multiple times, was very attentive to us and made sure he recognized the issue. Honestly, the wait wasn't a huge issue because of how he treated us. The manager came over apologized for the wait and gave us a free dinner for next time. I told her the story below and she apologized again. They treated me well and seemed to care about doing a good job. I am glad they have quality staff there now and will probably return as I know nothing is ever perfect but I appreciated that they held themselves to a higher standard than my last encounter. I was also glad to hear that Damien was no longer with the company he was awful.
First visit:
It's usually a good steak when they bring you the right one. The sides are delicious as well. This place is extremely busy so call ahead for a place in line but expect to wait no matter what. Their wait in line / call ahead system seems alittle goofy.
Last time I went we ordered and it took about 45 minutes to get the meal. When i did get it they asked who got the large rib eye and put it down in front of me. I was hungry and dug in. I quickly realized that I ordered a rib eye and gotten a sirloin.
After waiting for my server to come back around 25 min I finally called him over and told him that I had gotten a sirloin not a rib eye. He went to the computer and said nope I rang in a sirloin. Understanding that he had misheard me when i ordered, I didn't want to argue with him as it's always fairly loud in there and he didnt hear me correctly.
They offered to redo it I declined as I didn't want to wait as me son was almost done with his food and had a practice to get too. I had maybe 4 bites and it was unseasoned and under cooked. I would have sent it back if I had ordered it.
It was obvious they grabbed the wrong steak. The manager came over and again offered to redo it and i declined. I think she thought i was going to eat what they brought me ( 90 percent of the steak was still there).
I left it on the table paid the bill( they made me pay for the steak probably because they get that from guests looking for a free meal..however they did also offer a free onion app which i left on the table).
The service from my server was fairly poor as he seemed more interested in dancing and flirting with his coworkers than getting my order right or showing back up ..the server who was working nearby tables filled out drinks for us and got us rolls (they are delicious). I will admit they have good team work but I would get sick of carrying dead weight like that dude pretty quick. Felt bad tipping the guy as it only reinforces his behavior, but he did show up to work so our tipping culture indicates we must tip or be labeled as a jerk. I was the better man that day but really wanted to tip the other server as she did 90 percent of his job.
probably won't go back but I doubt that it will matter as they usually have a ridiculous wait every night of the week. I am sure they will thrive without my business..
It's been about two years and thought I would provide an update. The corporate office reached out and sent me a gift card. I appreciate the gesture and they did try and make this right. However, I...
Read moreMixed feelings about this Texas Roadhouse. The servers and other staff were great, but the food and policies were questionable.
We had guests from out of town and wanted to take them somewhere nice on the weekend. This gave us a total of 9, including 4 kids. Knowing weekends can get packed we called around 1pm to make reservations. Apparently they don't do reservations but they said to call back around 4 to check availability and that they can get us in provided no one else calls first. This wasn't a big deal, but in my mind that seemed off because isn't that the point of calling early, so that people don't call first, which is what we were trying to do.
When we got to the restaurant is where things started grinding me a little. Although we got there at the correct time, 2 of our party members were running a little late and we were told that everyone had to be there before we could get in line for a table. We waited for about 15 minutes before the other 2 arrived but still had to wait another 30 minutes before getting a table. Given it was a busy night we had to wait outside in the cold with little kids (ages 2-11) for 45 minutes. While I understand that larger tables are hard to sit, we also called well ahead of time and arrived at the scheduled time.
After siting to eat we promptly ordered appetizers and soon after the meals. While the appetizers came out in a reasonable time we ended up sitting at the table for over an hour for everyone's food. Yes, busy night, we had a larger party, things happen, so I'm trying to cut some slack. Unfortunately though, when our food did arrive, ALL of the meat (combination of steaks, ribs, and burgers) was dry and over cooked. The full rack or ribs that I ordered was in particular dry to the point of being crunchy and sent it back. While they quickly returned and replaced the ribs the second set of ribs were sill fairly dry and were sub par ribs at best.
The manager apologized and credited some of the bill, which was appreciated, but I still walked away not wanting to eat there ever again.
Between the scheduling, long wait to sit, long wait for food, and poor food quality I would give 2 stars. Given the servers and manager were nice and willing to credit some of the food I would bump it up to 3 stars, which is more than this Texas Roadhouse deserves but I am trying my best to be nice.
Ultimately, I'm not...
Read moreI had ordered the Texas meal combo that was a ribeye with shrimp the rice and Mac n cheese. About 15 minutes later the server came back to inform me they didn't have the ribeye , which means they had not even started the meals yet... So first off communication between kitchen and servers is non existent. I end up getting the 12 0z sirloin instead. Took an hour for our food to get to us. When it arrived the mashed potatoes for my fiance and my satued mushrooms for myself were fridge temperature cold. The shrimp was cold the steaks were cold the only thing warm was the Mac n cheese... Upon this no one checked on us and luckily a manager walked by and we got his attention to send back. All the while I waited 45 mins to get a second drink. When I asked if my drink was coming when the server popped up which was about every 25 mins (in an almost empty restaurant) I was told my drink was taking so long because the bartender was behind on orders.... I was sitting in the bar and she was literally just talking to another employee the entire time... Waited another 30 mins for the food to be ready cooked and the server came by to let us know she was upset at her manager because he didn't communicate to her that they were supposed to re cook food and she didn't tell the kitchen staff so our food wasn't even being re cooked... We just ended up walking out at this point.... This was my first experience with the place and honestly my last. Felt neglected by the server the bartender the manager and food was cold as hell... Worst experience I've ever had at a...
