Been to many rooms and have had success and failure, usually a fun time either way. The only time we don’t have fun is when we are unable to complete a room due to an error in the room or poor equipment, and that was the case today.
The host was good! Dressed up, played the part, had lots of fun! The set in the room was cool. Very much felt as though we were in the time and place of theme. Very well done.
Two major complaints. First, there is a scale in the room that I spent probably 15 of our 60 minutes getting to balance. It simply would not work consistently and needed to be used for several different items. Second, an item that needed a code locked after 3 failed attempts for 5 mins. Not a fan of that punishment in a timed room, but ok. Once I had incurred the punishment I tried again after what I estimated was 5 mins. I was no longer able to enter the correct code for the remaining 12 minutes. When I asked our host he said the item compounds the punishment if you don’t wait the 5 minutes. This wasn’t in any instruction or direction at all.
As I said, I’m good with not completing a room if I can figure out the logic. Not completing a room because of a faulty piece of provided equipment, or a rule that isn’t stated is a bit disappointing.
UPDATE:
I spoke with kristen this week. She listened to all of my gripes, and explained to me the steps she had taken to remedy the issues. She had replaced the scale by the next day and said she personally spoke to the employees working that day.
We decided to give them another go today. I brought my dad along and we challenged ourselves to their toughest room. Again, we failed (just by moments!) but it was all our fault! (Or if you ask my daughter it was all my fault.
The hosts were again fantastic in explaining the set up, and scenes set in the rooms were great. The clues flowed together relatively well, and a fun time was had by all! We certainly come back and continue to challenge ourselves as the rooms are...
Read more(Jail Break Challenge) Great time, even with 4 of our 8 being kids
We decided to try this out as an activity on vacation. The person checking us in and guiding us on our adventure was friendly and helpful. We started off our escape well getting out of our cuffs and the jail cell quickly. However, we fell apart after that. Rather than focusing on figuring out one clue at a time, our kids dispersed and started trying to figure out multiple different stages at the same time. This led to confusion, distraction and our ultimate downfall of not being able to escape. When we were not calling in for clues, the employee noticed we were getting off track and nicely radioed in clues for us to try to help get us focused.
Overall, the adults and kids had a wonderful time. My two daughters want to do this this for their birthdays now back in DC (we were visiting family in Spokane on vacation). I would recommend if you try this to do the clues in the proper sequence and keep the group focused on solving one at a...
Read moreI've been in a couple times before, but on Tuesday (4/30/24), I came in with my coworkers and friends for a team building. It was the best experience ever. Carly and Blane both were great and made sure we had an excellent time. Carly was there when I booked and she truly was amazing to deal with. She was so patient, kind, and personable. All of the Escape employees are wonderful but these two DEFINITELY deserve some snaps and claps for the job they did yesterday. EVERYONE left and immediately was talking about how much fun we had and how we want to do another room soon. If you want a truly wonderful team building experience, consider doing an Escape room through Escape. Not only is this the perfect scenario for teamwork and bonding, the staff will take wonderful care of you and ensure you have a great time. Thank you, Carly, Blane, and Escape for an unforgettable night....
