I've been here a few times, on two of those occasions I was disappointed in the service. The first time I ordered a sandwich with some friends, we had around 6 people. I waited about 20-30 minutes and the waitress showed up at our table (no food in hands) she said that they were out of bread. They sell Burgers, Sandwiches and Pizza. The next time my friends asked if we could meet there I said no, so we went to a different place. A month or so went by and I went back with my friends, still skeptical, so I showed up about 20 minutes early to order food so that I had it in time to eat. (Not one of these times I've gone were they slammed or remotely busy). I ordered a Calzone, figuring I didn't want them to be out of bread like last time I was in. I waited about 30 minutes, before the waitress showed up again at our table (without food in hand) and she said that she had it ready, and someone served it to another customer, we all kind of laughed. I'm not the kind of customer that is super picky, hell I would settle for a salad at that point. So one of my friends told her the story as described above about my sandwich. She told me that she would get me the replacement right away. She later arrived with calzone in hand and told me it was on the house. So now, my words of wisdom, I understand that things happen, food falls off the table, things burn, it just does. Please for the survival of your business please focus on your service the food and environment of this place are fantastic, they really are, I'm not here to bash. I want you to succeed, and to do that all you have to do is provide great service, please retrain your staff or refresh yourself on why you are in business. Right now my friends and I don't go here because I have been left hungry two too many times. Thank your for reading this post, and I hope you take the...
Read moreTERRIBLE. BEWARE, UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. If I could give negative stars, I would. I am back home visiting after being gone for a few months only to find out that the amazing, vegan friendly, properly staffed Pac Ave I used to LOVE is long gone. I asked when management had switched over and was told they “took down all of the weird stuff” among other put downs about the old owners three months ago. (Funny that all of the five star reviews came BEFORE the management switch???) After hearing enough of that, I asked if they still had all of the vegan options and was informed that they just had the cheese. The vegan community is growing and this USED to be the spot for vegan pizza. NOT ANYMORE. 😔 If that wasn’t terrible enough, we waited twenty minutes for three Bloody Mary’s and a Montucky (canned beer) after I had asked if our drinks were coming. I asked if our food was already in the oven because we wanted to leave if it wasn’t due to the already terrible experience. Unfortunately it was, but took another fifty minutes to come out of the oven. The vegan cheese was skimpy, the sauce was discolored but the crust was really good. All in all the food and drinks were good but way overpriced, the service was absolutely horrible, the new atmosphere was not favorable, and the few positives were not worth the wait. I cannot honestly say that I recommend what used to be my favorite vegan pizza, ever. Save yourself the heartbreak and head up to Allie’s! I will...
Read moreI have not been back for over a year after the new owner took over. My chicken sandwich was over priced and though it was heated by going through the pizza conveyor, the sauce was applied by grabbing the squeeze bottle out of the fridge. In other words the cold BBQ sauce was squirted onto my hot sandwich. There is also no excuse for a dirty restroom. I've worked in food service and we kept ours clean at all times. The owner also has complete disregard for the entire neighborhood, which is primarily residential. Hey, get a loud band into our tiny space, open up all the doors so the bad music blasts out and can be heard from more than a block away. Keep the loud music going until midnight, 1am, 2am. Who cares if we keep everyone awake, people who have to get up for work, folks with young children. Pacific Ave Pizza sure doesn't. Right now on June 8, 2013 at 12:47am, who is still blasting music with amplifiers and upped bass? You guessed it,...
