So small it is laughable, unless you only had very small dog breeds. While the location serves the downtown pet-owner community, the entrance/exit dual gate system is sub-par. In fact, both gate latches are currently broken, which means neither gate securely shuts. Moreover, the allotted space between the dual gates is much smaller compared to the standard dog park, and doesn’t seem ADA/wheelchair compatible. With the adjacent car traffic, the current entrance/exit gate layout is a major safety hazard for dogs.
Furthermore, the metal gate perimeter is short (maybe 3’ tall) and while the aesthetic is “historic city” the gate wasn’t safe for small dogs who could easily fit between the parallel bars—hence smaller wire fencing was added.

Read moreI like the sand and fencing. I'd like to know that all of the plants surrounding it are non-toxic to dogs since they poke through the fence. It would also be a lot nicer if there were safe ways to walk there, but since it is surrounded by streets on all sides, it's both a distracting and potentially stressful place for dogs (and their owners) as well as being difficult to reach with a dog in tow.
The sand is really nice though, I prefer it to the grass in most parks. Without grass it's easier for dogs to see their toys and allows them to dig without such unsightly consequences. It's also much less messy than grass in the rain or snow, which becomes a mud puddle; the sand makes dirty paws and toys but the sidewalk cleans off puppy feet within a couple blocks.

Read moreThis is a tiny spot. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. This is absolutely more of a doggo dort bathroom than a 'dog park'. It's tiny. I'd venture to guess about 300 square feet total and all dirt. Theres 3 trees. But, there is at least a doggo water fountain. Lastly, the double gate system does not latch, so use your leash if you need it to stay closed. Can't wait for high bridge to open back up and frankly not sure why there aren't more fenced dog parks around spokane considering this is a very dog friendly city, there are neighborhood parks everywhere and adding a fenced area to each would create inexpensive and awesome entire family spaces. Anywho. Not anyways, not a great spot so I...
