This was some of the worst "Chinese food" I have ever had and the service was awkward and inopportune- my water glass was filled probably eight times and filled after I only took a couple sips of water. The food is incredibly unauthentic, Panda Express is more Chinese than this place. The cashew chicken was fried and covered in gravy and the beef and broccoli was salty and bland. The waitresses also speak poor english which makes conversation difficult and awkward. Their is little to no ambience and its clearly and old diner turned into something of an asian theme but falls short of distinct character and doesn't even have public restrooms. I was incredibly disappointed to have read such high google reviews and have such a terrible dining experience. If you're looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant Ming Wah is not for you.

Read moreMing Wah has a unique atmosphere and dining experience that in my eyes isn't comparable to any other restaraunt in our area. 7 dollar lunch specials that can feed a small army, a neon sign and decor that has been mostly untouched since my parents were kids, and the familiar "bye bye, see you next time" that rings from the owner each time a patron exits the building. During the lunch hour you'll find a group of co-workers huddled around one of what can't be more than 15 booths throughout the place, along with solo regulars who banter with the old man and his wife throughout their meal. Shortly after you place an order, you can hear the sizzle coming from the kitchen while your food is being prepared.
The food is consistently great. It may not be authentic, but Ming Wah is good at what they do. Their food is fresh and they have a surprisingly deep pool of options on the menu. The sweet and sour pork is my go to. It's always perfectly crisp on the outside. The single egg roll might as well be two.
Ming Wah has a special spot on my list of places to eat is Spokane. We're lucky...
Read moreI've been eating at this place for almost 45 years. I've really enjoyed it! It was my very favorite Chinese restaurant in Spokane. But sadly I'll likely never eat here again. I moved to Seattle in 2019 but still visit Spokane often and I've tried to stop in and dine here every trip for the last 2.5 years since Covid hit. I understood take out only for the first year and a half, but at this point (Oct 2022) I don't get the Take Out Only. :( I'm not eating in my car or trying to take it to a hotel room. It's just poor customer service in my opinion. I really miss it!! I'm so frustrated that I don't even try to stop by anymore. If you're OK with take out it's pretty decent food. But if you're looking for a dine in experience you need to go to Peking North or ANY other Chinese restaurant, or any restaurant for that matter. Because I've been forced to find other options I've found some other choices that I really enjoy, like Peking North, Cathay Inn and Red Dragon which is very close by. Still miss the...
