Spano's Brick Oven Pizza — Restaurant in Spring Hill

I grew up in New York eating the very pizza that made pizza the popular food it is today. With all of the varieties along with the approximate 74,000 to 80,000 pizza places in the US, it is hard to find any that duplicate authentic New York style pizza.

However, one of the closest is the pizza I get from Spano's Brick Oven Pizza located at 13037 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL.

Not only does it taste like the pizza that started it all, it also stands out on its own. It is one of the tastiest pizzas I've had and I have been eating pizza since I was a kid in the 70's.

In addition, it has something that has been dying out. The owners, Lenny and Grace, work in the business full time to include pizza making. The atmosphere has a "Mom and Pop" vibe and is proof positive that the American Dream is alive and well!

When they have a moment, they are more than willing to share in conversation with you. I have done this on many occasions.

Don't pass up the opportunity to experience Spano's Brick Oven Pizza...

My wife and I recently stopped in a Spano's Brick Oven Pizza after shopping late in the afternoon on a Saturday. We ordered a simple cheese & sausage pizza and it was incredible! Plenty of cheese, light on the sauce, tasty sausage and crispy crust all the way around. I complemented the owner on the pizza and informed him that is was an excellent NY style pizza! My brother and I returned from a trip to the Jersey Shore late August. While in NJ we stopped at two different pizzeria's and discovered that the style of pizza had changed. There was little crust around the edge of the pizza and the rest of the crust was almost cracker thin, not what we remembered when we lived in NJ. However, Spano's Brick Oven Pizza reminded me of all the delicious NY style pizza you used to find anywhere in the Jersey Shore. This is now my "Go to" pizza place in the Spring Hill/Brooksville area. ...

When I called a woman answered the phone and was extremely patient with my many questions, and was extremely polite. I ordered a medium Pizza with extra cheese and mushrooms and an order of in bone chicken wings and first of,. that is exactly what I got. It was, by far the best pizza I think I've ever had, and that is not an exaggeration. My wife and II do quite a bit of takeout, and I can't think of a pizza place that matches their pizza, the cheese was perfectly gooey. The crust was crispy but not hard. The sauce was tangy and perfect, not too overwhelming, and the chicken wings were perfect. Even the blue cheese that they use is not some cheap stuff that you squeeze out of a tube,.It was actually very, very good blue cheese dressing.
