What a wonderful meal and overall experience at Spring Lake Seafood. The property itself is beautifully detailed; a stunning yet relaxing and enjoyable space. The food was phenomenal. Incredibly fresh and creative dishes, well prepared with good depth of flavor, without trying too hard. Everything hit the mark well. We started with a salad course, I had the Bibb salad, which was delicious with fuji apples, candied walnuts, goat cheese champagne vinaigrette. Pretty sure the candied walnuts were made in-house, they had the perfect amount of crunch! My wife had the caesar, again spot on yummy salad. I walked past the service counter and saw they have a DRY AGER for their TUNA, which I have NEVER seen in a seafood restaurant. I'm a huge fan of dry aged beef, so seeing this put a big smile on my face. This place nerds out on the little touches, I love that. I got the bluefin tuna flight to sample the tuna and I will tell you it's the best tuna sushi I've ever had, so so good. Our main course we got crabcakes, and again they did top notch work. They used a remoulade that I've only ever had similar to (and have sought out since) at Del Frisco's but with less spice. I usually prefer broiled, but the crabcake had a perfect crust that didn't take away from the overall texture of the generous lump inside. They came paired with fingerling potatoes with a light sautee, and these brussel sprouts with this very unique sour citrus spicy flavor profile that I really enjoyed, full of flavor. Brad and Lula have a winner on their hands. Simply put, Spring Lake seafood is a 10/10, just go and you'll be blown away!

This review is just for breakfast as this is a seafood restaurant the experience may be very different for lunch or dinner. They have a large outdoor area to sit. The outdoor tables were not set with anything. Our server was nice. Water was served in a carafe and the glasses had ice. I ordered a make your own omelet and a cup of coffee. The omelet only came with potatoes and not toast. It was very expensive for what it was. The omelet was fine but the coffee was a little bitter and was never refilled. They ran out of flatware so my companion had to wait but his flatware did arrive before the food. I was never offered a spoon for my coffee although I was given a flatware package of a fork and knife when my coffee was served. While we waited for our food, which took some time but we didn't mind, my view was of the peeling cabinet and the high chairs in the photo, although they did have some pretty planters full of flowers around the porch on my other side. It doesnt appear to be the kind of place where the staff works together as a team to make sure all the customers are taken care of so it was kind of a cold experience when we first arrived. It is not a bad place but in my opinion the experience for breakfast was not worth the $30 (before tip) we paid.

We made reservations for outside seating at 630 on Oct 16. We walked from the hotel but it ended up being chilly so we asked if we could sit inside instead, and the hostess seated us with no problem. Our server was friendly and made some recommendations. We started with clam chowder and shrimp cocktail. We didn't expect the clam chowder to be such a big bowl but it was delicious, very creamy with lots of potatoes, corn and clams. RJ ordered the lobster roll and I ordered the bay scallops. He was disappointed the lobster roll was cold, which isn't specified on the menu, but it was good. The Day Boat Scallops were small but tasty. I was disappointed they didn't come with the broccolini which was on the menu and just had boring green beans instead. The server said the desserts were made in house but we were too full. If we had known we would have skipped the apps to save room.

It's not good business practice to call someone a spy or a liar in your response especially as the owner. I did make reservations to take my friend there for his birthday with a 2:30 reservation time. We walked in there wasn't anyone in there not 1 table which I thought was odd but it was towards the end of lunchtime so I thought ok but still odd. After we sat down our nice server got our drinks and then was about to take our order we were then informed by her that the restaurant was closing for a week for remodeling and she named the things you were out of and then stated we're using up what we've got which clearly wasn't a good sign to us. At that point we already got our drinks what we're we supposed to do just get up and walk out so we proceeded to put our order in. We were told the oysters were half price again because you needed to get rid of them before you closed up but honestly everything should have been half price! I looked at the pics of the lobster roll that's definitely not what we got. Clam chowder no clams watery broth with potatoes. There wasn't 1 chunk of lobster in a lobster roll only ingredient in there and it looked more like coleslaw couldn't even taste the lobster. . Same with lobster Mac and cheese no chunks just pasta. I believe you were out of lobster and still stayed open and we got the remnants of what you had left back there with everything certainly is what it seems. Not cool. You should have just closed a day early and not served food that wasn't up to standards for that price especially that cost me almost $200 and that's not including the tip. We left hungry and disappointed but at the time wouldn't have got into it the girl was so nice and it wasn't her fault. Food for thought before you go accusing a paying customer of making this up who was there for an important milestone birthday and this is what we will remember unfortunately about the occasion. Response to owner. Go back and read your response to my friend. Who do you work for and is this a plug for another restaurantso thats exactly what it implys that we weren't really there and were doing this on purpose which is ridiculous! Instead of taking responsibility your food was totally below standards for the price you're charging and right out of our servers mouth you were closing for the week and trying to get rid of food. You take no responsibility for it nor do you deny it so that says it all! You should be apologizing how unprofessional rude and childish go eat all you can eat salad and breadsticks. Let me tell you I'd recommend for people to eat at olive garden first it was way better then we got there. You don't mind paying $200 for a dinner if it's actually good! I wouldn't recommend anyone go there just for this inappropriate unprofessional attitude and response how you treat customers is appauling and I see if anyone says anything negative you attack them. What happened to the customer is always right? You clearly see we're telling the truth and your server Kiera was very sweet and very honest of the situation of you closing for a week and there wasn't much food left! Then you close but greed clearly gets the best of you and what your customers think means nothing to you and constructive criticism is all part of being in business and obviously you're not mature enough to handle it.. you will lose alot of local business this way. We all live in the area and will be making sure to let everyone know it. All you needed to do was apologize no rude and condescending comments and that would have been it and you doubled down for any potential new customers to see it. Nobody wants to give someone who acts like this their business no matter what the food is like. There's too many other better choices out there. I screen shot everything you...

BEST sushi down the shore! I had honestly given up on finding quality, true sashimi-grade sushi in Ocean / Monmouth County and assumed I’d have to settle for over-sauced, fried specialty rolls (which, don't get me wrong, I also love), but SLSF completely nails the sushi experience.

Chef Leon is the absolute best. He’s so welcoming and incredibly talented, and his hospitality at the sushi bar alone keeps us coming back. Every piece of nigiri is perfectly crafted, and it’s clear how much pride he takes in his work. He so very generously let me try a piece of hoho-niku sashimi that I will think about literally for many months to come. My only wish would be that they did a fuller omakase offering on a daily basis, but I do believe they have some omakase events/nights.

The service is always super great, and even the non-seafood dishes are thoughtfully prepared and well done. My boyfriend loves the bolognese here, and the wedge is a total knockout.

If you can snag one of the four seats at the sushi bar, you’ll have the best experience possible.

MUST TRY the Chutoro Caviar, Toro Salmon, and Yellowtail Chili Crunch. I also love the Kamikaze and Spicy Lobster crunch roll but the nigiri here really is the star of the show.

Huge thanks to CHEF LEON and the entire SLSF team for bringing something so authentic and special to the Jersey Shore! The owners should be very proud of the team they've put together and the dishes they put out (as I am sure they are)!!

Note: I did ask the Sushi Chef his name so I could write this review and he wrote down Leon, but it actually might have been Chef Li based on their Instagram account* could of been autocorrect on my phone - either way the...

They only got 1 star because 0 wasn’t an option. I have to say my experience there today was absolutely horrible. The town was packed for an Italian festival and this restaurant was literally empty. Be that as it may- my wife waited at the host stand for over 10 minutes while many staff and even a manger walked by her numerous times- not 1 person even said hello. They treated her like she was a Door Dash driver maybe because she’s not white. No one greeted her at all. Finally a mid looking older hostess walked up and didn’t even say hello- she said “what do you need”. Who trains these people. Maybe they were upset because it’s slow and no one is making money. In addition- The portion sizes have just gotten smaller and smaller as we have went a few times. You can tell half the people working there are wacko liberals. Def some people working there you know voted for Kamala. I didn’t notice many patriots on staff. Today was our last time eating there. On the ride home I looked at the reviews for the restaurant and noticed many people had similar complaints and the owner got rude on each response. I’m sure he’ll have a slick response here. He clearly isn’t taking the constructive criticism very well. It’s very evident that a lousy attitude at this place starts from ownership down to the hostess. Here are a few other great options close by to check out - La Mondina - Antonios Trattoria - La Dolce Vita- Scarborough’s- Rods We have too many great restaurants in our area to go here again. As a business owner myself- I encourage you to whip the front line staff into shape. You can respond however you like- but our experience today turned into- never eating here...
