I have been going to Spring Lake Beach for many years. This is my favorite beach along the Jersey Shore. I get seasonal beach badges. You must purchase seasonal and daily badges online. I love this beach; it's so clean, beautiful, peaceful and family oriented. There is a 2 mile boardwalk and you can see the ocean clearly so you can enjoy your walk or run. There are gazebos so you can sit and relax, read a book and enjoy the beautiful ocean atmosphere. You can't bring food on the beach, but that's just fine because it helps to keep the beach clean. Many people leave their coolers on the boardwalk. You can eat on the boardwalk on the benches or walk to the Pavilion to eat. There are concession stands at the North and South Pavilion. There are no arcades or playgrounds. There are outdoor showers. The historic Essex and Sussex is on Ocean Ave. originally constructed in 1914 and began as cottages in 1882. The Breakers is a famous hotel attraction across the street from the beach. It is located on Ocean Ave between Newark and Madison Ave. It is a historic building originally built in the late 1800s. It's very popular with many weddings held here and other events or you can just go to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. It has an amazing ocean view! Just beautiful inside and out with just steps to the ocean. You will love it! There is plenty of free parking. Dogs are permitted on the beach Oct. 1st - May 14th. My dogs look forward to this time of year so they can enjoy the beach too. I love taking photos of this most beautiful beach and especially sunrise!

We started coming here last year with friends and it is one of our favorite beaches. I feel like it's such a great place to come with children because it is so well kept. Beautiful and extremely clean, well-maintained beaches with some gorgeous large rock points. This beach is probably the cleanest beach on the Jersey Shore. Sand is great and not rocky/stony so plenty of smooth sand to run your feet through. Lifeguards are on point. Weekend beach pass $10 / Family. Beach passes only available online right now. Only downside for families is only one place on the boardwalk for restrooms and food. Designated parts of the beach via different colored flags for swimming, fishing, surfing. Parking is free and plentiful! Beautiful, scenic, and peaceful park within the blocks of the beach and some eateries, local establishments. Lovely day to spend with your loved ones at the Jersey Shore! ; )

One of my favorite beaches. Gets quite crowded for there being no boardwalk, but it’s one of the nicest, cleanest beach in Jersey. There’s a $13 per person fee (as of Aug 2025) to get on the beach and parking is free although if you come later than 10am you will have a very hard time finding a parking spot. There is no food or coolers allowed on the beach although you are allowed to bring water. The area is also very lovely with the big expensive beach houses and the Spring Lake greeting you as you drive up to the ocean front. I would highly recommend this beach for all.

Looked like a nice beach! Just some things you may want to know before you go: I researched online before going as to where I could buy a day pass and it said the north or south pavilion, so I parked near the north pavilion, walked there and asked where to buy the day pass. They told me to go to one of the two huts up or down the board walk which I did, no problem. I got to the hut to buy the day pass and realized I left my wallet back home, which was an hour and 45 drive away. Unfortunately they said they couldn’t accept Apple Pay today (June 23, 2024.) I asked if I could pay with Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, anything else digitally, or if I could speak with a supervisor and see if they had a solution. Obviously leaving my wallet at home was a mistake, but the girl at the hut was very rude and just kept saying there was nothing she could do but accept a physical card. In 2024, where everything is so digital, I was surprised that not only she didn’t have any empathy after knowing how long it took me to drive there, but that there wasn’t any other solution.

Luckily I saw Sea Girt beach about 6 minutes further south has gotten with the program and you can buy a day pass online and the scan your QR code - how modern. So I was able to use Apple Pay on my phone to buy a day pass and frankly, there are less people at Sea Girt than Spring Lake so I’m happy about the conflict and won’t bother trying to go to Spring Lake again with family or friends.

A little kindness...

Wonderful Experience at Spring Lake Beach I recently had the pleasure of visiting Spring Lake Beach in NJ, and I must say it was an incredibly enjoyable experience. The beach itself is a true gem. The soft golden sand and clear blue waters create a picturesque and relaxing atmosphere. Whether you're looking to swim, sunbathe, or take a leisurely stroll along the shore, Spring Lake Beach offers something for everyone. The cleanliness of the beach was impressive; the maintenance crew seemed to be doing an excellent job in keeping the area tidy and inviting. One aspect that truly stood out to me was the family-friendly environment. The lifeguards were attentive and clearly prioritized the safety of all visitors, which is especially reassuring when bringing children along. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, making it a great destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. Furthermore, the surrounding amenities add to the overall positive experience. The nearby park area provides a nice respite from the sun, and the available facilities such as restrooms and showers were well-maintained and convenient. Overall, my visit to Spring Lake Beach was fantastic. The combination of natural beauty, safety measures, and thoughtful amenities make it a must-visit destination for anyone in the area. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to others seeking a relaxing and enjoyable...
