So I don't know if I ever really explained the whole "No Passports Needed" - so many times people will go out of the country expecting an American taste with authentic flavor and behaviors. However people don't realize the flavors in the United States aren't as authentic in several restaurants due to taste demographics. So when you are able to fully experience flavors as their true intention of that country here in the States, seize that moment. When you are able to enjoy an authentic experience of that culture thru their food/decorations/translations/ interactions, seize those moments. We are lucky enough to have restaurants and experiences here in The United States that provide that in certain areas. It is important to respect the cultures and the people you are visiting. This way, when you decide to actually go out of the country, you have the knowledge of what to order, how to eat it, and how to truly respect that country and the people.
For this experience, I was looking for something with later hours, upon entering was quickly greeted and ushered over to a table. Menus were given. Drink order was taken.
I opted for the C option. I ordered so much meat that night. I asked for Ssamjang as I was requesting all of my sauces and spices. I will admit the owner looked at me strangely but obliged my request. All of the meat was great quality, and the portions were wonderful. After the meal was complete, the owner told me that he was not expecting me to ask for that sauce, as most non Asians don't. I laughed and said well I was taught how to properly indulge all the flavors to enhance my experiences."
Interior is great in size. This place can accommodate small, intimate parties to larger groups. Music was playing in the background. There is a robot you will probably see helping to assist with delivery. Everything was very clean.
Would recommend- pricing is typical for KBBQ. The staff were very courteous and hospitable. I didn't have to wait long intrusive times to order more food. Love that. Never once felt rushed.
Location is Spring Mtn/ Arville- ample parking. There is parking in the...
Read moreMy fiancé and I used to eat here on the weekends regularly however the service, food, and ambiance has left us heavily disappointed. Today we came in since the new Korean bbq we now replaced for this one (down the street) was too full. Korean Garden was pretty empty (per usual) and we were seated with in minutes.
Our waitress was a lady whom we dislike getting helped by since all 4+ times we’ve gotten her she forgets my fiancé’s Coca-Cola, forgets to place our meat orders in, only brings 1 cheese corn for both of us to share, and at checkout is AGGRESSIVELY adamant for a 20% tip and won’t let you check out with out pointing out the tip she didn’t deserve (ps. I’ve given $20+ when service is great, not trying to be stingy). This time was no exception…
This last time was the final straw… we are no longer coming to this restaurant because of the service (others have complained in various reviews) meat is BLAND, FROZEN, and THINLY SLICED, appetizer are extremely limited, there is no music playing in the background (how cheap can you get), PORTIONS ARE LIMITED (they monitor closely how much you are eating and will ignore you if you are hungry and asking for more meat).
Today’s checkout I finally reached my boiling point since all of the previous times we’ve tipped out of pressure even though service was mediocre. Today with no exception she was once more asking for a tip and didn’t want to let my fiancé choose the “other” option on the pin pad (she was hovering her finger over the 20% option and telling him to click “here”. She was upset printed the receipt and told him to tip before signing the receipt and pointed at the tip section AGAIN saying “here” add tip. I stepped in and said no thank firmly and he was able to sign for the first time without a tip. She was upset but enough is enough, bad service doesn’t get a tip in my book and neither does entitlement.
Do yourself a favor and checkout the other AYCE KBBQ down the street (on spring mountain) they are light years better for $2...
Read moreMy family wanted to try something new so we came here. Mind you there are a lot of Asian restaurants on the whole street but we decided to try this place. We had a terrible experience. We walked in and nobody was really there. Not even locals, and it was about 4 or 5 on a Friday night, that should tell you something. The menu was written in Korean, but had English descriptions underneath. The waitress did not speak very good English, we tried to tell her we wanted to be on our own check and she looked at us crazy. I told the lady what I wanted to order and my husband ordered a side of rice and the waitress had an attitude. I'm not sure if it was because he ordered a $2 meal or if we had offended her in some way. At the end of the meal we asked for our checks. Mind you it was a party of 8, and the check was all together. My cousin's order was wrong because they put one of the high end orders on the check (But that's a WHOLE different story, because I asked what another table ordered. But did not get it. I guess the waitress became confused)... So anyway, the waitress was very disrespectful and started yelling at my cousin and my family. Another waitress walked up to see what was going on and we tried to explain but then she became upset and took sides with her co-worker. At the end of the day it took an extra 20 minutes for us to leave. And while making payments the waitress was still being rude and raising her voice and having an unnecessary attitude to my family.
I feel this could of all been avoided if they understood a little more English. And on top of that, knowing how there are a lot of Asian restaurants, they should have been better with customer service. We will NEVER go back. The food was good though. The meat was seasoned just right. But if you are not the type of person that eats fatty consistency meat, it's not for you.
And the portion size for the price is...
