They reused the hot water from customer table. I made a complaint but they said it's okay since it's hot water. (They also said in Las Vegas it is illegal to throw the water out. They have been served reused water from customers table all these time) we left the restaurant without eating but same time one of the waitress asked us to leave too. I have filed the complaint to southern Nevada health department. I hope people need to watch what they drink in this restaurant because the hot water has been mixed from many customers table. We are lucky we saw before eating at mr.tofu.
Mr tofu owner and servers needs to know!!!!!!!!!!
In the United States, food safety and hygiene regulations for restaurants can vary by state and local government. However, in general, reusing beverages or items (such as a pot of warm water) that have already been served to a customer is likely considered a violation of hygiene regulations for the following reasons:
Risk of Cross-Contamination: Containers or items that have already been used may harbor bacteria, viruses, or other contaminants, posing health risks to other customers.
Public Health Laws: Most states explicitly prohibit the reuse of food or beverages once they have been served to a customer.
Food Safety Regulations: In Nevada, where Las Vegas is located, the [Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD)] oversees food safety and hygiene standards. Reusing served items could be a violation of these regulations, potentially resulting in fines or even temporary closure of the establishment.
Recommendations Any pots or containers that have been used must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before being reused. Provide additional hygiene training and establish internal policies to prevent such practices. Contact SNHD or the relevant local health authority for detailed guidance on compliance with food safety regulations. To maintain both hygiene standards and customer trust, it is strongly recommended to discontinue...
Read moreIf you like Korean side dishes, this place has a lot and they are one of the best quality ones available in Las Vegas. The bulgogi tofu combo worked rather well for two people and kept the price around $40 with a tip.
My bulgogi dish was dry which initially disappointed me. However, after eating a couple pieces, I noticed the great flavor that it had. There is a subtle yet, delicious barbecue smoked meat type of flavor going on that a sauce would normally cover up. I prefer saucy bulgogi dishes so I can eat it with rice, but I enjoyed this one all the same.
The biggest issue that we had was all of the waiting: 30 minutes for getting a table, the long wait for getting drinks, ordering our food, and receiving our food. We arrived roughly 2 hours before they closed (8 PM) yet we were one of the last people allowed to eat there. They turned away several people that arrived after us.
They seem to need more employees to handle the customer demand since they lost out on a lot of business and I considered leaving several times due to all of the waiting. Maybe I came at a bad time, so if you go, hopefully you won't have to wait as long. The whole experience took roughly 2 hours and we left shortly before they closed.
That being said, the waitresses were kind to us and when they were available they did everything we asked them to do (i.e. bring more water). The problem was I had to get up a couple times to go find a waitress to get assistance. They all seemed very busy, which is why I think they need more staff as...
Read moreMy first visit was for a business lunch and Mr. Tofu did A-OK...
Mr. Tofu Service & Ambiance: A Chinese restaurant was in this location previously and the remodel for Mr. Tofu is looking pretty clean.. There's plenty of seating for this high volume Korean restaurant. The overall service was a little slow but friendly with the lunch crowd present.
Mr. Tofu dishes: I went the Mandu Soon Tofu soup and bulgogi combo this visit. The soup was a little watered down and bland from what I'm used to. They were generous with the tofu and the mandu dumplings were on the smaller side but were tasty. The Bulgogi was dry and also a little bland but still ok. The beef Galbi was the all-star at lunch. It was marinated well which packed it with flavor and was very tender. This is a must order. They load your table with plenty of fresh banchan/side dishes and all my favorites were there.
Las Vegas has become a low key foodie city where it's easy to get great food at very reasonable prices. Mr. Tofu prices are close to what you might find on the Las Vegas strip without the extra ambiance, service or next level dishes. I think I might have caught Mr. Tofu on an off day so I'll most likely visit again. I love how they're open 24/7 which might explain their elevated prices. Payroll expense is the highest (and most controllable) expense in any business. Order the Galbi if you're in Mr. Tofu and reading...
